To all,There are two possibilities that allow Jesus to be God.Either God can be tempted by sin and scripture is wrong or Jesus was not tempted even as we are and scripture is wrong. Scripture is not wrong therefore neither of the above explanations is true and Jesus is not God. Instead he is the exact image of God's righteousnes and holiness a…[Read more]

Worshipping Jesus,My family was Seventh Day Adventist, who are Trinitarians, but I never really thought about the Trinity until someone asked if I believed Jesus was God. I then searched scripture to find an answer. Many of my change in beliefs have resulted from such challenges as I simply do not think to study on many issues I am not…[Read more]

Georg,As you say the first man Adam is created of the dust of the ground. The second man Adam is the spirit that gives life to Adam and so makes him a living soul; as opposed to a non-living one.The second man of each of us is the soul which is said to depart from the first man of each of us with death according to Genesis 35:18. To all,The below scriptures are from the NIV of Scripture.Matthew 2231 But about the resurrection of the dead—have you not read what God said to you, 32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.” 33 When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at his teaching. Matthew…[Read more]

Mike,God is not tempted by evil and human beings are. I believe you would be better to use the angels as an example in your argument as they were tempted and those who did not fall instead walked by the Spirit. I do not know if angels were tempted like we are and yet did not sin. I do know that scripture states Jesus was and it states that fo…[Read more]

T8,Technically many Catholics believe scripture is a number of stories told for teaching purposes and not actually the Word of God. I believe other sects that call themselves Christians also have a similar tenet. Would you state such individuals are believers?

Karmarie,I believe souls exist in Sheol/Hades with form but no bodies. These souls are able to sense, communicate, and much else we do though probably not in the same way. I also have come to believe they are the the breath of life that gives our bodies life. I do not believe these bodyless souls are the resurected human being.

To all,In some of the scriptures mentioning “soul” we see that the people of Genesis spoke in the third person about themselves using “my soul” to mean “I” such as in Genesis 19:20, Genesis 49:6, and Genesis 27:4. This could just mean that they considered that the soul the most crucial part of them.In Genesis 34:3 and Genesis 34:8 we learn a…[Read more]

Mike Boll,From what you state Adam and Eve had neither the knowledge of how to do good or to do evil.
