Danny Dabbs,
Kerwin,
The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. John 3:35
That does not mean he needs him.

Nick,
Hi Kerwin,
How do Jesus’ words judge in the last day?
“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him:
the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.” (John 12:48)Those words seem clearer than my explanation of them but here is my effort to clarify them.
Those that hear and under…[Read more]

miia,
Technically there are more than ten commandments in the Law as many all the commands of God in the Five books that were addressed to the children of Israel are commandments. There were ten spoken by God before the Israelites begged God to speak through Moses instead of to them personally. We call those ten the ten commandments because…[Read more]

t8,
Hi t8,
Did Jesus say
“Before Abraham I am.”
YES
he said it and
NO
The Spirit spoke through him.
Yes and no? You are in two minds about it.
There is no contradiction in truth. Contradiction come from a person’s own understanding.
Scripture is true. If it is written, then it is true. Regardless of wh…

Danny,
Despite what you see in movies and other places love is not about needing the one you love.
I do not even think that made it in to the description in 1 Corinthians 13.

Nick,
You ignore Jesus words that “you will know them by their fruit” at your own risk but it is known the Law lacked the power of God as it is written: ” For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh” (Romans 8:3).
The purpose of the Law is teach us and so bring us into awareness of sin.
It is only by the Spirit…[Read more]

That affirmative answer of Jesus’ was a nice find.

Ed.
Hi Kerwin,
If questions are repeatedly avoided, and the one questioned
gives instead unsolicited speeches, what is the alternative?I can only speak of what I have seen and that is that some ask for an answer after I have already given that answer more that once. It may be be they think my answers are speeches.
I have also witnessed…[Read more]

Ed,
I quoted from Matthew in order to reveal the danger of a literal interpretation.
Actually t8 quoted it out of context and it has to do with swearing or promising.
Matthew 5:36-37Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. 37 But let your…

Ed,
He did answer in the affirmative that time and then he went beyond that.
Matthew 5:37King James Version (KJV)
37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

Nick,
You disagree with Scripture and not me for Scripture state live by the Spirit and not by the flesh and the best I can do is repeat that instruction.
Jesus’ fruits revealed he walked according to the Spirit and not according to the flesh before he was immersed by John.
Don’t you believe Jesus’ words that by their fruit you will know them?

Gene,
The evidence it that he was not given the authority to either preach the gospels or do miracles until after his baptism by John. Scripture states anointed to do preach the gospel and do good works and that may well have happened when the Spirit descended on him in the form of a dove.
The way I understand it is that God sent one instance…[Read more]

I hear the claims but the spirit behind them is not of God. I have not yet found one yes or question in Scripture. Many people on this sight ask yes or no questions that are based on their point of view and do not take into account the point of view of the person that is being queried. They are not different than the Pharisees that…[Read more]

I disagree with the ideas behind the Hot seat because it is just a tool for intimidation. I have seen everyone on this site dodge question and even his there irrational zone where reason abandons them and I doubt that such questions will help. Perhaps I am wrong and the Hot zone can serve as an invention.

Nick,
I agree that a person cannot walk in the Spirit till they are born in the Spirit which is conclusive evidence that Jesus had the Spirit to walk by prior to him being immersed at the Jordon.
John realized this which was why he saw no need to immerse Jesus but Jesus saw the immersion had to occur for all righteousness to be completed.…[Read more]

Miia,
Actually Jewish mystics do that sort of thing regularly. The case I know best of is calling Wisdom the daughter of God. I have even heard some call wisdom the wife of God. Gnostics corrupted that later. Both the Mystics and Gnostics called her Sophia, which by translation is Wisdom. She is also known in Christian mysticism.
I also…[Read more]

Nick,
The Law teaches you the differentiate right from wrong but does not provide the power of God to overcome. It is only by walking according the Spirit that one can overcome sin. That is done by faith.
If an creature does not have the Spirit then they can only walk according to flesh, which is at war with God. God has the power to suppress…[Read more]

Miia,
Natural languages are confusing which is why yes and no questions are not the best for communications. They may work with a short explanation but even that can be unsatisfactory.
Ed is coming from somewhere but that somewhere is probably a different knowledge base that you have.
Mystics would say the Spirit is the child of God because…[Read more]
