    Miaa,

2 Corinthians 3:4 is also one to consider.

    Miia,

Gene, if Jesus is and was ordinary just like us, then how can we follow him as our Lord, when God said in Jeremiah 17.5: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man
    and makes flesh his strength”?

Jesus did not trust in himself foe he stated “your will and not mine”. In Jesus did not make flesh his strength. We are to follow him…[Read more]

    T8,

    Matthew 1:18
This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph,

This one should be even easier to understand than the others you mentioned as Jesus had come into his kingdom already. Unlike some of the other it is not speaking of his as the one testified in prophesy but rather as…[Read more]

    Ed,

The first hint of this prophecy is first mentioned in Gen.3:15,
so that hardly goes all the way back to eternity past.

There is also the words “And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.” at then the end of the first chapter of Genesis.

The origins I am talking about are in the mind of God. That is also why I…[Read more]

    Ed,

The AV of the KJV is a corrupted text despite your denial of that fact. I still use it because it is what God chose to give us. I compare it to others and look at the original languages because I am interested. Never the less I will go by its wording for Micah as I said.

    Ed,

Do you believe Psalms 12:6-7 is true? “Yes” or “no”?

Did you mean to insult me?

The answer to your question is yes and you should have assumed it as a given no matter what passage of Scripture is quoted.

If your assumption is invalid then time will show it to be false.

    @t8,

    That is dodging a point.

The point being you stated Jesus was not ordinary because he was born holy and I pointed out that the Jews in general are born holy for the reason that he calls them a holy people.

That is pointing out that at least one premises is false unless you want to conclude Jew are not normal humans. Jews are not normal,…[Read more]

    Ed,

I looked at the Hebrew behind the words of Micah 5:2 and there are many mysteries about why it has been interpreted in as many different ways as it has. It appears that experts see implied words but differ on what words are implied. In addition there is probably a differences in manuscripts.

That said I do not think that word’s of Micah as…[Read more]

    Danny,

My father was not always a father so it is easy for me to imagine a time that was not the Father. That ended when he created the angels for created as his sons of the Spirit. Man also was created to become the sons of his Spirit but humanity rejected that promise in the garden. Due to God’s foresight and mercy there remains another…[Read more]

I agree with that as well. Christianity also has their versions of that as well.

    Nick,

I am sorry as I dropped the word people. God called the Hebrews his people. God has never retracted those words. Instead he implied that the disobedient among them were cast out and obedient Gentiles were adopted in their place.

    Nick,

I agree that holiness that is defiled is no longer holiness.

I do not agree that the way is closed as salvation was also by faith under the old covenant. The new covenant is superior because by it a believer will receive and live by the Spirit. Any true believer if given the opportunity will grab it. Those who knowingly reject the…[Read more]

    Hi KW,

Those who do not respect God feel free to do many things

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

    seek wisdom

I have no disagreement with those words but they are not a direct part of out conversation.

    Nick,

    Hi KW,

    The Pharisees tried that line.

They were told they were sons of satan.

The Jews that Jesus spoke to were children of Satan because because they defiled their holiness by not following in the steps of the father of their flesh but instead walked in the ways of the spirit of the evil one.

It does not change God’s word that many…[Read more]

    Nick,

Hebrews does not invalidate what the God stated to the Jews ages before.

I do know he also told the disobedient among them that they would never enter his rest.

They are still born holy but if they reject the Christ then they defile that holiness.

Their holiness is credited while that of true believers is actual for the later wear the new man.
