Gene,El is the singular Elohim. I believe Elohim is used for God to represent that he is not only a god but god magnified. Both names are written in Scripture.

T,God is define by his works yet the God a Trinitarian worships and the God a Jehovah Witness are said to be the same God though one believes in a three in one God and the other in a one in one God.The Canaanites and Abraham in a like manner worshiped the same God though the Canaanite doctrine was often in error.
