t8,
He existed in the form of God and came in the flesh.
God has no outward form nor does he have a species because he is the creator not the created.
God made space and space even without mass-energy is this universe.
Those that truly believe God created the heavens and the earth believe by logical progression that he has no body.
Therefore…[Read more]

In the U.S. a mass shooter shoot and kills multiple victims. Just a normal event in the United States except when it has terrorists ties. In any case Americans are more interested in their political debates than the victims they do not know. They do at time make a show of interests in the victims.
I have no power to resurrect the dead or…[Read more]

Ed,
The church of God is that nation not the United States.
The U.S.A. sacrifices its children to the flames of their own desires. I would not be surprised if it were revealed they sacrificed more children for every 100,000 population than did the Canaanites at there worst.
Test the spirit of your doctrine.

t8,
The U.S. Constitution does have some nice ideas in it but it is neither a religious or moral nation and so those ideas are of value to it.
It is the practice of those in power to misinterpret those words to advance their politics and often at the beck and call its people. There has been the legalized slaughter of innocent children in their…[Read more]

Nick,
What I hear is that you are so convinced you are right that you refuse to test the spirit of what you believe.
I instead showed otherwise as I did examine what you said and what the gospels say in order to test the spirit of your words.
Are you afraid to test your own beliefs?
kerwin replied to the topic What does it mean that Jesus came in the flesh? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 9 years, 10 months ago
Nick,
In the whole of the four gospels he is only called Jesus Christ a handful of times and like does not even call him that any times.

Nick,
I don’t agree with your assumption that Jesus was reborn in Spirit at the Jordan.
The rest of what you say is a derogatory statement given what I say elsewhere.
The bottom line is I doubt you are correct but neither have I tested your hypothesis. From my experience the use of words is for teaching purposes and not express ideas like…[Read more]

Terrarica,
Kerwin
you have to pin point what is it you talking about for quoting a chapter his quit big and vague
You quoted the whole thing, I didn’t.
The words are foreknow and predestinate and both are in this sentence. I give two versions of it but every version I looked at agreed on the idea of those terms.

- The Spirit of God comes from Christ so it is the Spirit of Christ.
The Spirit of God was given to Christ so it the Spirit of Christ.
Jesus walked according to the Spirit of God and so it is the Spirit of Christ.
The Spirit of God grants Jesus preeminence in all things and so it is the Spirit of Christ. The third is why he is party…[Read more]

Nick,
The use of “Jesus Christ” may have been aimed at Jewish heretics that teach the Christ has not come as well as Gnostics.
kerwin replied to the topic What does it mean that Jesus came in the flesh? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 9 years, 10 months ago
Nick,
I agree on your first statement but I disagree on the second though it is true in its own way. Jesus has essentially taken the same role God’s Word has and still occupies. That would be the role of the Christ though God’s word has never been called the Christ except figuratively; and that by Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:4.
kerwin replied to the topic What does it mean that Jesus came in the flesh? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 9 years, 10 months ago
Nick,
I do not believe Scripture shows a difference between Jesus and and Jesus Christ. They are used differently as the later is used to reveal he is the Christ. I think you believe Christ is speaking of the Spirit though I am not sure that is the case as Christ is a concept the Jews of that time were well familiar with and they would have…[Read more]

Terrarica,
I believe Colossians 1 and John 1 are related and both refer to Jesus’ position and abilities. Neither are evidence that the Christ is preexistent.
Both of them say that as John states that he wrote his gospel to encourage believers to believe more strongly Jesus is the Christ. Paul speaks of preeminence. John the Baptist also…[Read more]

Terrarica,
You conclusions about what form/nature of God means test false because God is the created of space and without space there is no body. Space is part of physical existence in it is the media upon which the physical exists. We know of three dimensions though there may be more. Some claim time is a fourth. Even if nothing physical…[Read more]

Gene,
It could have been since the Empire had many versions of the Emperor cult and Jesus was taught to be the emperor. Hinduism or its predecessor might have been an influence as well though technically they would have influenced the Persian Empire of that time more.
Gnosticism taught Jesus and the Holy Spirit flowed from God and thus might…[Read more]

Nick,
Yes, the soul.
Paul spoke about not wanting to be found naked.
The part of him that would be naked is the soul.
The clothes are the body. That is why is why scripture speaks of the soul going to Sheol/Hades.
Since all human beings come in the flesh it follows Jesus does.
I see no reason to debate since the idea the Spirit and Word…[Read more]

Gene,
I have seen no evidence the Trinirarians existed at the time John wrote those words.
I teaching that is not the one true gospel or a precursor to it is a false teaching and therefore against Christ.
kerwin replied to the topic What does it mean that Jesus came in the flesh? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 9 years, 10 months ago
Nick,
Jesus Christ came in the flesh.
It speaks of the Spirit.
It is hard to tell but I give more weight to it speaking of the soul within human flesh.
Since it is the truth yours works as well and God could well mean both of them.

It is not that hard to understand.
Why do you reject it?
kerwin replied to the topic What does it mean that Jesus came in the flesh? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 9 years, 10 months ago
Terrarica,
Philippians 2 speaks of Jesus existing in the form of God, which means he united with the Word.
The result is that he does not see being equal to God as loot to be grasped.
Instead he choose to lower himself and become a servant to all.
Having been made in the likeness of humanity.
