According to what I have been taught the word worship is reserved for God alone while homage can be used with him or others. The thesaurus I looked at does name them as synonyms.

I know the AV of the KJV uses worship in reference to Jesus and King David but unless the meaning of the word has changed over time that is a mistaken translation.

The Spirit gives us knowledge but knowledge is not intellect.  Intellect is the ability to solve problems, critical thinking,  ability to learn, reasoning ability , and a number of other things along that line.

The knowledge the Spirit teaches is how to love as God loves and that is not knowledge the intellect learns though it is biased by it.

I was not a translator for the NET or other versions that determined the later manuscripts were less creditable.  There are other passages in the later manuscripts that are suspect as well which is why they change text types as more earlier manuscripts became available.
