How would they know rebellion if they had never experienced it?

As usual Nick, you are long on dogma but short on answers that back the dogma up. How can something be considered wrong when one has no concept ofwrong? All they knew before the fruit is “don't”. Since they had not experienced death, how could they even understand the result of disobedience?

Here's one to ponder: since Adam and Eve did not know good and evil until they ate of the fruit, how would it be a sin to eat of the fruit since they did not know the difference? All they knew was that God told them not too. Had they seen death before that? How did they even know what is was to die if that had not experienced death? So, logically,…[Read more]

Nope. As I said, scripture does its own judging so I don't have to.

Bingo.

So you are saying that his sinlessness did not have anything to do with him obeying scripture, but rather that God did not hold him responsible for disobeying scripture, thereby excusing him from breaking the laws given to Moses?

Then why didn't those lads share it with others?
kejonn replied to the topic Jesus and sin in the forum Inspirational writings & sermons 16 years, 9 months ago
But how can we know God does not judge him? If you agree that God gave Moses the words of the Torah, and Jesus broke one of those commandments, is it not God judging him guilty by His own commands to Moses?

This is somewhat in line with this thread, so I'll share it here. I recently read where someone asked if stealing a sandwich could be justifiably be punished with 10 years in prison. I think most would say no. Then in return, why would we feel that God would punish people for eternity for refusing to accept one particular belief?

Amo 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD does nothing Unless He reveals His secret counsel To His servants the prophets.

Nick,Do you know that the word “mystery” was not used until the book of Daniel? And it is only used in that OT book. So it seems God was not into being mysterious to the Jews, yet Paul would have us think this.
kejonn replied to the topic Bible in the forum Bible Texts & Translations 16 years, 9 months ago
I mean that his use of the word “mystery” was no real answer. If someone asks you how Jesus was to be the Jewish Messiah, and you could not show them using the Hebrew scriptures, does callign it a mystery really answer anything? No it is a copout.

I am no greater than Paul, nor no less. He was human, I am human. You put Paul on a pedestal he might not quite deserve. Are you a respecter of persons?

And by saying this, it is not I judging him, but scripture that you say is the 100% infallible Word of God. So take it up with the author as you would say.

Quote (Nick Hassan @ Feb. 15 2008,12:15)Sin is in the eyes of God and not men. It is surely unwise to judge the holy one of sin, the one that you are relying on for salvation, for you are not greater than he.So if Jesus broke one of the 613 commandments of the OT, that was fine and sinless? In one place the NT says he was without sin, but using…[Read more]

Actually, to call it a mystery just shows that Paul was ignorant. It has nothing to do with me knowing more because it is a mystery to me as well. Paul did not have a true answer, so calling it a mystery reveals nothing. The first definition for mystery is “One that is not fully understood or that baffles or eludes the understanding; an enigma”
