    @Proclaimer,

    You have come up with an interesting “thought” explaining who the “our” is; however, it doesn’t fit and we still don’t know who the “our” actually is, you have once again speculated. The words written by Isaiah tell you who the “our” is; there is no guessing or speculating, you just have to read it, it tells you who is speaking. Ze…[Read more]

    @Proclaimer,
    To say I “made some big leaps.” Careful how you tread; to discount what I have written is to say Rabbi’s are clueless and have no understanding of the Tanakh. You want to learn what we call the old testament, find a Rabbi who is teaching it and learn. Modern scholars are clueless in comparison, which is why we have the belief Isa 5…[Read more]

    @Berean

    @Danny

    Apparently I am not suppose to be speaking on this topic, because neither of you are grasping what I am asking. I asked my youngest child the same question I asked you Berean at the beginning and they picked up immediately the point I was going to make and I am extremely careful what I say to them at this point.

    I am tired of…[Read more]

    @Danny,

    My “conversion” was at a speaking engagement; but similar to yours.

    What was written in the pamphlet that caused you to question the path you were on?

    @Berean,

    If you have heard of Jesus and you accept him where do you end up? If you have heard of Jesus and you reject him where do you go? Is that better!

    Explain in a single sentence why you would choose one scenario over the other?

    @Proclaimer,

    If only verse 1 was talking about the unbelief of Israel, and being prefaced by “could be” tell me you’re not really sure yourself and are guessing. When was the last time you picked up a book, read a random paragraph from it, and where able to discuss what the book was about? My guess never, so why would you do that with God’s W…[Read more]

    YOU: “Jesus is not mentioned by name in the Old Testament.”

    ME: THANK YOU!! Yet somehow he will be found in its writings by modern day “scholars.” And you don’t question this?!?!?

    The “word that was with God in the beginning”; BUT what does “word/logos” mean? For you, by the use of circular reasoning, means Jesus. What it really me…[Read more]

    @Berean,

    I would love to hear an explanation from you concerning Col 1:16,17…but I won’t hold my breath.

    How about a response to the law being written on the Gentile heart and not going to hell. Is that what you understand and believe because it’s scripturally sound or you believe it because this is what you were told? Your statement doesn’t…[Read more]

    @Proclaimer,

    Isa 53 being about Jesus is completely false! So using this chapter as your “proof” produces a big, fat zero and is thrown out as evidence to your claim. You have ignored the preceding chapters and are cherry picking a couple verses from 53 to “prove” you found Jesus in the old testament because it sounds like Jesus in the new and…[Read more]

    @Berean,

    YOU: It is God’s purpose, to write his law in hearts. And so Gentiles with the law of God written in their hearts will not go to hell.

    ME: If the law is written on our hearts and we will be judge accordingly, our salvation (either children of God or condemned) is hinged on how we uphold the law?!? If that’s the case, there is no point i…[Read more]

    @Berean,
    You respond with NO! If we don’t need Jesus, what is the point of christianity?
    Explain John 3:16; sounds to me with Jesus – heaven (eternal life), without – hell (perish).
    Are you intentionally being obstinate? There is a point to my question, just answer it!

    Salvation and how you get it isn’t the question, the question is “what is modern christianity truly based on?”

    Don’t make this complicated, think basic like a child – “with this, you receive this; without this, you receive this.”

    @Berean,

    You’re trying to make it “spiritual” and are missing it. Go basic, like you’re telling a child; without this, you receive this.

    @ Berean,

    Those aren’t proofs, they’re doctrines and I have thrown out doctrine in favor of scriptural truth. If doctrine cannot be confirmed by scripture, it’s man made in my eyes. Now I asked to find a preexistent Jesus in the old testament, not the new…begin!

    @ Carmel,

    You referenced Isa 43 and say it points to Jesus, the “New Jerusalem”, and the captive human race; this is false. Please read the entire chapter starting in verse 1. What does “anointed one” mean and who is this “anointed one” mentioned? “Anointed one” in Hebrew is “mashiach” and the Greek translates it to “messiah.” So who i…[Read more]
