I have no interest in Biblical scholarship – only in the discernment of truth to which such Theological study is nothing more than a boring distraction and a complete and utter waste of time…
–
But because you seem to find this analytic comprehension of Biblical Greek so vital to your doctrine I will post for you some information on the…[Read more]DavidL replied to the topic What is your confession regarding Jesus in the forum Inspirational writings & sermons 12 years, 6 months ago
Everyone knows that the JW’s Bible is rejected for changing Scripture to suit their own (Unitarian) beliefs..thus they have rendered their version completely useless to anyone accept those within their own church cult..(it even FEELS uninspired and dead..!!)
–
They have changed John 1:1 to say “a god” – BUT THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU YOURSELF ARE…[Read more]DavidL replied to the topic What is your confession regarding Jesus in the forum Inspirational writings & sermons 12 years, 6 months ago
I believe my Bible when it says, The Word Was God..and for your information I have not just picked out one to suit my own preconceived ideas of Jesus (which is obviously the very reason WHY the Jehovah’s Witnesses Bible, that you somehow have thought prudent to use as a valid example, is the only one rejected as a genuine translation)..

you quote 1 John 4..test the spirits..but you don’t follow through with John’s prescribed method of testing the spirits – instead you pronounce your own rationale that, God never contradicts Scripture…and of course to you the idea of Jesus as God creates a little havoc with your intellect – but DOES it contradict Scripture..?? or is it really…[Read more]

YOU SAY: “The Word came from God.
So there was God and the Word in the beginning.
Before that, there is no beginning.
He expressed the Word or the Word came from him so that it came forth and was with him.
This did not lessen the Word in God, but that there was now another next to God at his right side.
The early Church father’s put it l…[Read more]DavidL replied to the topic About us in the forum Feedback, Suggestions, & Features 12 years, 6 months ago
You suggest that by accepting your understanding of the Trinity I will be purged and move closer toward being without spot or blemish – saying that we move onto greater things, the meat of the word, and we let go of traditions as we get older in the faith. We should be able to discern such things as we get older.. that it is just about…[Read more]

An explanation of John 17:3
–
When Jesus walked the earth we know from Philippians that His path was a downward one – from first existing with God, in the form of God – He laid aside His equality with God, emptying Himself of His divinity to become human/flesh – a being of lower degree than that of angels..and in this state, He who first…[Read more]DavidL replied to the topic About us in the forum Feedback, Suggestions, & Features 12 years, 6 months ago
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

Obviously it’s the last part you disagree with..so how should it read..?DavidL replied to the topic About us in the forum Feedback, Suggestions, & Features 12 years, 6 months ago
Ha ha – you are such a politician..producing a lot of important sounding words that give absolutely no substance to all your boasting…

So let’s try and understand this answer you produce..that somehow concludes (in your great mind) the simple knowledge of Jesus as the preexisting Word…

O such wisdom and great humility..from the one who has revelation greater than all the saints and prophets (and corrupt Bible translators)..

You say –“For us, there is one God the Father. It means exactly what it says.”

so maybe in the light of your great Biblical knowledge you are now ready to give us your correct interpretation of…[Read more]DavidL replied to the topic What is your confession regarding Jesus in the forum Inspirational writings & sermons 12 years, 6 months ago
If the Bible is NOT the inspired and infallible Word of God…but has, over time, become corrupted by biased “Trinitarian” translators (as you teach on this site) – then you must put your trust in the teaching and logic of “men” instead..
–
As for me I Believe that the Word of God has been upheld down through the ages by the God of Scripture (if…[Read more]DavidL replied to the topic About us in the forum Feedback, Suggestions, & Features 12 years, 6 months ago
I’m not interested in your logic – only truth..is logic how we determine truth – or is it the Holy Spirit that leads us into all truth..??
–
your logic contradicts the Word of Life and makes Scripture out to be a liar – some corrupted document that needs the intelligence of uninspired philosophers to make sense of it…!!!???

is Jesus God..?…[Read more]DavidL replied to the topic About us in the forum Feedback, Suggestions, & Features 12 years, 6 months ago
I think really you are arguing against your own logic – and this logic has become your god…
DavidL replied to the topic About us in the forum Feedback, Suggestions, & Features 12 years, 6 months ago
You ask – How can both the Father and the Son be separately designated “god” in JOHN 1:18 if there is only one God?
–
..of course it’s not “LOGICAL” that both Father and Son can be God, if there is only ONE God..but we sometimes need to be reminded of Who we are trying to be logical about – we are trying to make sense to our human und…[Read more]DavidL replied to the topic About us in the forum Feedback, Suggestions, & Features 12 years, 6 months ago
“For us there is one God the Father, and one Lord, The Lord Jesus Christ” – 1 Corinthians 8:6
This seems to be your favorite verse to hold up as proof against the Trinity..claiming that Paul is stating that the Father is God and Jesus is Lord (and not One with the Father)..

First we should note the context of Paul’s statement is that he is…[Read more]DavidL replied to the topic About us in the forum Feedback, Suggestions, & Features 12 years, 6 months ago
Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace.

Again you ask – “Do you believe Jesus when he said the above words David? You do not.”
–
My reply is that with all my heart I believe Jesus – but YOU t8 are presenting a distorted image of Him…manipulating verses to say what YOU (according to your carnal understanding) want it to say, rather than what the Holy Spirit says…
