If God dwells in Jesus Christ why would it be wrong to call Him God, like Thomas did..?
DavidL replied to the topic John 18:5-6 in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years ago
As I have pointed out to you before Nick, if the Oneness Jesus spoke of was just being ‘one in the Spirit’, then others also should be able to say the things Christ said…
Yet who is there that can say, “I and the Father are One.” ..?
Who can say, “If you’ve seen Me you’ve seen the Father.”..?
or again, “Before Abraham was born, I…[Read more]

so…aren’t you also interpreting Scripture according to your own predefined belief (rather than letting Scripture confirm Scripture)..?
Scripture says, “..baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
it also says, “..simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
Does one annul the other ?

So is it wrong..?
DavidL replied to the topic Genesis 1:26 in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years ago
Hi nickhassan
If there is no trinity
and Scripture never mentions one
is it wrong then to be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit ?

If you start with a predefined belief, you end with it because of bias. Then all scripture is twisted toward your own way of thinking.
you understand this about others – but what you fail to realize is the predefined belief in your own teaching…!!!!
all your Scriptures are twisted towards your anti-trinity bias…there is a huge…[Read more]

If the Father revealed that Jesus is the son of God and the Messiah, and if this was commended by Jesus himself, then why don’t you listen to him yourself.
Yes – listen to what the Son has said – “I AND THE FATHER ARE ONE.”
Eternal life is found where..? in the Father alone…??
No, “This is eternal life, that they may know You, the on…[Read more]

“This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (notice – “the only true God AND Jesus Christ”…two that are one.)
lol DavidL. I see your reasoning tacks on the end the words, “the two are one” when it doesn’t say that.
This is your bias kicking in.
no reasoning – just comparing Scriptu…[Read more]

To lie to the Spirit is to lie to God.
thank you for confirming the Deity of the Holy Spirit..
DavidL replied to the topic John 18:5-6 in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years ago
how did the Pharisees interpret Scripture…?
DavidL replied to the topic Testing the Trinity in the forum Inspirational writings & sermons 11 years ago
God is never separate from His Spirit.
John testified saying, “I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained upon Him.
DavidL replied to the topic Genesis 1:26 in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years ago
yes the Spirit too – very good..!
DavidL replied to the topic Testing the Trinity in the forum Inspirational writings & sermons 11 years ago
so I see you are confirming the third member of the trinity..
DavidL replied to the topic Testing the Trinity in the forum Inspirational writings & sermons 11 years ago
Kerwin
The teaching of the Trinity is not in Scripture
you deny the preexistence of Jesus – maybe we can start there…
I gave you three Scriptures that directly speak of this..
Philippians 2:6 – “who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped.”
John 17:5 – “Now, Father, glorify Me…[Read more]

So attacking me over this is futile
was just asking you a question t8 – How did you become a Christian..?
what made you realize Jesus was true..?
DavidL replied to the topic Genesis 1:26 in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years ago
Yet you attack me for these true scriptures. You must be asleep
Listen to the testimony of Scripture, instead of cherry-picking verses to suit your false doctrine..!

“If you have seen Me you have seen the Father.”
“The Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
