Quote Fair enough I guess. Commemorate really means to remember together rather than to celebrate. the whole Christmas Easter thing though is from the Whore. What does Easter or Christmas have to do with Christ, or what we're discussing?

Quote Their argument would be that God is Onmipresent. I don't believe that God is omnipresent. How could God be present everywhere at the same time? God is a spirit Person, which means that he does not have a material body, but a spiritual one. A spirit has a body. “If there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual one.” (1 Cor. 15:44; Joh…[Read more]

About the Oneness Pentecostals belief of modalism, Isn't their belief basically: “Trinity where only one person of the Godhead exist at any one time” If the three modes of God are able to co-exist at the same time, then there is no essential difference with Modalism and Trinity doctrine.

Please, let's just discuss this one thing for a moment if we could. There are many other threads where we can discuss many other things. Notice the question raised in the first post in this topic: They basically asked: 'Any churches that don't believe in the trinity?' (I prefer the word “congregation,” or perhaps, “faith.”)And like t8, who…[Read more]

Wow, I just discovered the search thingy on the top right of the screen. I also discovered the “members” button next to it. Unbelievably, 150 people have joined since I have. Where are they all? Also, I couldn't help but notice that cubes is a dedicated member, the only one as far as I can tell. And pastor adam is an associate member, whatever…[Read more]

david replied to the topic Critizising other Religions in the forum Faith 20 years, 6 months ago
Did Jesus criticize other religions? We should have a kind and loving interest in people of all religions, but when their religious beliefs and practices are false and merit God’s disapproval, it is showing love to bring this to their attention by exposing falsehood. Jesus clearly showed up the error of the religious practices of the scribes a…[Read more]

Quote Why david,Was it commanded? Why would any christian want to celebrate the death of our Saviour? If you look a little closer Nick, you will see that I said "commemorate," not "celebrate.""Commemorate" means "to honor the memory of."Jesus said: "keep doing this in remembrance of me." (Luke 22; compare 1 cor 11:25,26)I also used the word…[Read more]

Quote They believe that God is one being, who revealed himself to man in 3 manifestations that are just roles or offices that the one true God fills.Woutlaw, to me that sounds a lot like the trinity belief, doesn't it?He's one being–revealed in 3 manifestations or roles or offices. So, other than Jehovah's Witnesses, (and the Oneness…[Read more]

You base this belief soley on YOUR understanding of one illustration–a parable. The Greek Septuagint translation of the Hebrew Scriptures, which served as Scripture for the Greek speaking Jews and was used extensively down to the time of Jesus and his apostles–it uses the word “Hades” 73 times, employing it 60 times to translate the Hebrew wor…[Read more]

On the Oneness Pentecostals, I'm not exactly sure what they believe. Is a core doctrine of theirs that Jesus is the Father, and Jesus is the Spirit, that there is one God who reveals Himself in different modes? That sounds similar to the trinity doctrine to me, just with a different title, doesn't it? Maybe I am misunderstanding their beliefs.

Quote It is not those who claim to be Christian that have any relevance.Right, SAYING you're a Christian means very little. But saying you're not a Christian (follow of Christ) says a lot. Doesn't it Nick?So I'd like to clarify my original question. I don't want to know everyone who doesn't believe in a trinity. There are lots of such people.…[Read more]

Quote ON Wednessday April 12, 33AD at approximately six PM Jesus the Christ died for you and the world. And, on Wednesday, April 12, 2006, after sundown, Jehovah's Witnesses all over the world will commemorate this.I'm wondering when others who aren't attached to Easter memorialize the Lord's death.
david replied to the topic Bunny Rabbits in the forum Truth or Tradition 20 years, 6 months ago
No offence Kenrch, But why do we need 4 threads on Easter? Can someone please just delete this thread? Or could his words just be pasted into another thread and then delete this thread? It makes it much harder to find things with multiple threads on the same topic.

So there's the:Oneness PentecostalsBinitariansUnitariansJehovah WitnessesI'm wondering if Binitarians and Unitarians are actually religions or are they more of ideas? Hey Nick. I'm glad. It's just, before you said to me:Quote You are twisting scripture to justify your doctrines. It would be great to see a little openmindedness and not just doctrinal justification from you. In November, we discussed this, in this thread. You just now said: “Quote he could not have died but as you say the belly of the fish was 'as sheol'.”Right, I agree. It was as if he was in sheol. Quote I need information on a church that does not beleive in trinity I'm wondering if anyone has a list on groups that do not believe in the trinity? I would prefer not to have the “anit-denomination” speech, but simply want to know what groups out there officially do not believe in the trinity. Anyone?
