Hi Rudy. Quote Quote (Rudy @ May 21 2006,03:01)All power is All power, so then Christ if not God, who is over us?That would mean God is NOT in control, Jesus is. Because ALL POWER is HIS (Jesus) 'till His enemies are His footstool, so apparently God the Father has no power right now and as the song says, “God is in control…” is incorrect and…[Read more]

Yes, and who is the “ruler of the world” that Jesus mentioned 3 or 4 times who has no hold on Jesus. It's definitely not God in those verses. And in Rev 12, it speaks of Satan (the adversary) the original serpent, also called a dragon who with his angels battled with Michael and his angels, and he was hurled out of heaven. So this adversary or…[Read more]

Quote Evil (as in bad things that happen) comes from God.On what do you base this? Does not the entire book of Job declare otherwise? Job may at first have thought the bad things were happening to him because of God, but at first he was wrong. We know it was the adversary (Satan) who was doing these things. A normal human couldn't have caused…[Read more]

Quote So, by this reasoning YHWH is “limited in his might”. You are tying yourself in knots David. No, I'm trying to untwist your odd reasoning. Do you really not understand what I'm saying? Let's take this in steps:Is there a difference between “mighty” and “almighty.”YES.What's the difference?Mighty: Possessing great power and…[Read more]

Quote So your premise that “There is a grand difference between being “mighty” and being “almighty” is invalid. No it's not. It's extremley valid.Quote If this is applied to YHWH, how can it possibly denote a lesser category of being? Obviously it can't. This is incorrect reasoning. Being called “mighty” does not denote a lesser category of…[Read more]

Obviously someone who is ALMIGHTY can be described as “mighty.” Someone who is Almighty (and there is only one described as such) is All mighty. How mighty? All mighty. Is 1:18, there is a grand difference between being Almighty and mighty. Is 1:18, most likely even you could be described as mighty in certain respects. Humans can be called…[Read more]

Quote Don't miss the wood for the trees. It is really quite simple. Yes, it seemed quite simple for an angel, demons, Jehovah, Jesus, John the Baptist, Nathanael, Peter, Martha, John, Paul, mockers of Jesus, an army officer who saw Jesus die, the Jews, who all identified Jesus as the son “of” God.Simple logic suggests that someone cannot be their…[Read more]

Quote If you comb the bible you will come up with 10 or so scriptures where Jesus is called God. There is no doubt about the fact of his own glory and his divine heritage. All will bow to The Lord Jesus. There are about 3000 about the divinity of the Father.Yet men claim they are equal!!We know Jesus is clearly referred to with the word “God”…[Read more]

Hey Sammo. I see you're “on” here now. I was just looking through the “fallen angels” discussion on this topic. I see you've been through this all before.Whenever an idea that is completely the opposite of what most believe presents itself, it is hard to even wrap your mind around. This idea is just so different than what most are used to.I'm…[Read more]

Ok.2 CORINTHIANS 10:3,4 (New International Version)”For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”10:5″For we are destroying speculationsand every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of Godand…[Read more]

So when you knock on a door and introduce yourself you then start preaching the gospel? (I'm not sure I completely understand the question.) Do you have a set format you heave to follow or do you just go with the flow?(The one to whom you speak seems in large part to dictate the flow.)So do you start with “Do you believe in God?”(Rarely, if…[Read more]

Quote Reasons not to believe that the Devil/Satan is an immortal fallen angel: 1* Angels cannot “fall”. If they sinned they would die (Romans 6:23), but they are immortal (Luke 20:36). Therefore angels cannot sin – they are “all” the “ministers of God” (Psalm 103:20-21) 2* If Devil and Satan are proprer nouns for an immortal fallen angel,…[Read more]

I find this topic quite interesting. I have just begun to look at it.On page 4 of the fallen angels thread, Sammo says:Quote Men are called Satan (1 Kings 11:14, Matthew 16:23), and if you compare 2 Samuel 24:1 with 1 Chronicles 21:1, you'll find that even God is called Satan. If Satan really is the proper noun for an immortal fallen angel, then…[Read more]

Maybe he would have followed that option and maybe he wouldn't have. But what we are told from this scripture is the answer to the question: “Who really is my neighbor”? It's not just the person that has the same skin color as you or lives next door or who is of your nationality. So what does the Bible say about you and your neighbor? What is…[Read more]

In the self defence thread, T8 stated:Quote I have to admit that this for me is a hard question. I also wonder about war. If we were enlisted to fight against an enemy (like the Nazis) would God allow or want us to kill the enemy. As t8 stated:Quote Seriously though, I don't think it is wise to argue over dates, sabbaths, genealogies, etc. Also, this topic is about the apostacy. We should stick to the subject. About 4 of the 5 pages were devoted to sabbaths, etc. But I think the “great apostasy” is a topic worthy of discussion. Yet, it really hasn't been discussed too…[Read more]

Also, from the same thread:I wrote:Quote “While men were sleeping his enemy came and oversowed weeds…” I'm interested in the timing of this statement. When did it begin? While men were sleeping. Looking at history, it seems that when the apostles who had been acting as a restraint against apostasy fell asleep in death, the congregation…[Read more]
