Yes Is 1:18, but how could someone who is mighty be equal with someone who is 43 times described as Almighty? Jesus = Jehovah?”MIGHTY” a few times = “MIGHTY” a few times + “ALMIGHTY” 43 times.Just kidding. We can stop this now.david

Hi Sammo, ON LUKE 10:18,Quote Luke 10:18 definitely happened sometime around 30 AD. The time described in John 12 (when Jesus was put to death) definitely happened just afterwards.Ok, we have 4 references to the “ruler of the world.” (Also see Eph 2:2)One of these references says:JOHN 12:31“Now there is a judging of this world; now the ruler o…[Read more]

Think of a judge who pronounces a just sentence upon a criminal. The convict may suffer considerably while he serves out his sentence, but can he rightly blame the judge for being the cause of his suffering?

When Satan afflicts Job with sores, Job says to his wife, “Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?” (Job 2:10)The writer calls these satanic sores “the evil that the Lord had brought upon him” (Job 42:11). Satan brings misery. But Satan is not ultimate or decisive. He is on a leash. He goes no farther than God decisiv…[Read more]

Quote Quote (david @ May 22 2006,08:26)For a certainty, Jehovah allowed the adversary, Satan, to cause Job's suffering. The adversary asked, and Jehovah allowed it. Men are usually not tested in such ways. But this was a special case. the Adversary believed that if he could turn Job, a man blamelesss and upright away from serving God, he could…[Read more]

Quote Hi David”Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. This he said, signifying what death he should die.” (John 12:31-33)The context of this is Jesus being crucified, 2000 years ago. Is this when you date the fall of Satan? When do you…[Read more]

Hi Is 1:18,You write:Quote It's also evident from our exchange that I never made an assertion of an antithetical nature, therefore can't be expected to prove anything to you. You didn't make such a claim because you can't prove it. All you have to do is find one scripture that says Jesus is Almighty. That's it, just one. And since you seem to…[Read more]

IS JESUS ALMIGHTY?The Hebrew word Shad·dai´ and the Greek word Pan·to·kra´tor are both translated “Almighty.” Both original-language words are repeatedly applied to Jehovah, the Father. (Ex. 6:3; Rev. 19:6) So, NICK, what do YOU think about the fact that neither of these expressions is ever applied to either the Son or the holy spirit?

Quote Okay David, we'll take your percieved connotation of “can” then. You said you “can” prove this to me, so you obviously believe it is possible to do this. Why are you now so reluctant to do it? Either you back yourself or you don't.If you think you can do it, then do it. If you've changed you mind, can we drop this please? Is 1:18, Unless you…[Read more]

Quote As for 'Mightly God' – it's a title that's directly applied to YHWH, David, so on what basis could you possibly argue that it denotes a lesser diety? There isn't one. You would, by default, be enforcing a clear double standard. Surely you can see this??What I do know is that the word “mighty” and “almighty” are different. To simplify this,…[Read more]

Quote Hi,If Jesus is Almighty God then there is no trinity. There are two Almighty Gods. I'm sure they reason that if one is almighty, they all must be almighty (despite the fact that the holy spirit is never referred to as such, or Jesus). The trinity teaches that all are equal. Yet, being almighty would tend to mean you have more power than…[Read more]

I thought we might as well look at the actual scriptures in question. There actually aren’t that many of them. Hey Cubes. It's late.
