I agree Nick.Under the Mosaic Law, there were certain contributions that were voluntary. Others were required of the people. The giving of a tithe, or tenth part, was one of the latter. (Ex. 25:2; 30:11-16; Num. 15:17-21; 18:25-32Only the Israelites were bound by that law, which included tithing.Although it is true that God never changes, his…[Read more]

Not sure if this belongs here. It most likely doesn't. But I thought it was interesting:I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones? * What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets? * What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it? * What if we flipped through it several times a day?…[Read more]

Quote Hi david,You really do not understand do you? No, apparently, Nick, I really don't understand you, and how you reconsile what you refuse to say (I won't kill t8, my brother) with what you do say (We are united in spirit)I don't understand at all.

Nick, you couldn't even tell me that you definitely wouldn't kill t8 if he lived in another country and your country went to war with his.Is that unity? Is that love? It's the exact opposite.I asked that question several times. You kept saying: 'I'll let God give me the answer if it comes to that.' But if you don't know whether the right thing to…[Read more]

Never said I was perfect. But it is remarkable that unity and not division would be a distinguishing mark of true Christians. They wouldn't be divided. You are divided from your fellow “believers.”I'm sorry for pointing out the division. It's just that the Bible says certain things that lead me to believe that true Christians would be united.…[Read more]

Quote We are not forced to agree about anything but find remarkable unity in the Spirit. JW's are not forced to agree about anything. They do agree and are united in beliefs. As you say, you are not forced to agree about anything either, and nor do you agree on most things (other than “God isnt' a trinity,” and your anti-denominationalistic…[Read more]

The fact that the Hebrew word for “wisdom” is always in the feminine gender does not conflict with the use of wisdom to represent God’s Son. The Greek word for “love” in the expression “God is love” is also in the feminine gender. If it is not, then what would that mean?If apocrypha is a part of the book of Enoch, then doesn't this too largely discredit it?
