Quote Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. We notice that Jesus is here referred to as “mighty God.” “God” in Hebrew is a word that means basically “Mighty One.”…[Read more]

New Catholic Encyclopedia, 1965: Trinity in the Bible:“The doctrine of the Holy Trinity is not taught in the OT. In the NT the oldest evidence is in the Pauline epistles, especially 2 Cor 13.13, and I Cor 12.4-6. In the Gospels evidence of the Trinity is found explicitly only in the baptismal formula of Mt 28.19. In the Old Testament. The mystery…[Read more]

“He who is God came in the flesh.” and this one you're speaking of died for us.“Art not thou from of old, O LORD, my holy God? Thou diest not!” (Hab. 1:12, AT; NW; Mo; Ro)“You do not die.” Heb., lo’ ta·muth′. This was the original reading, but the Sopherim (scripture copyists) changed it to read lo’ na·muth′, “we shall not die”; T, “your word wi…[Read more]

Shouldn't we speak of God and of Jesus as the early Bible writers did, as the inspired words of God do? Where do we find the early Bible writers discussing the “trinity?” Where do they speak of how equal the holy spirit and Jesus are? If the early Bible writers said that the Father is “God” approximately one thousand times and forgot to mention…[Read more]

Quote Revelation 5:11-1411Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, 12saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and…[Read more]

Above Buster seems to like to point out the plurality of the word Elohim.Isn't it interesting that this word is used in the same way for individual pagan divinities, such as Dagon (1 Samuel 5:7) and Marduk (Daniel 1:2), who were not triune gods?Ins't that interesting?Commenting on this, Oxford scholar R. B. Girdlestone writes in his Synonyms of…[Read more]

Hey Buster. By stating things that are known to be false to everyone on this forum, you only make people question everything else you say.Nick is not JW. T8 has told you this. I think you might both be right. The Bible speaks of the “good news about Jesus Christ.” (Mark 1:1)And of course, the good news is often referred to as the good news of the kingdom, of which Christ is king, so the good news wraps around him, as the seed and promised one, and king of that kingdom. But when he came, he definitely proclaimed that good news.

Three pages back on this thread, I thought Casey stated that: ““Ok…I have concluded that the discussions on this site are futile.”So I don't want to ask him to engage in something he considers futile, but I would like to actually discuss “worship” and whether Jesus should be worshipped, according to scripture.I have pages and pages of scr…[Read more]

I feel that much of what is on that site should be considered:The Greek word – ProskuneoThe second point we should notice is that while about ten different Greek words are translated into English as worship in the KJV, only the Greek work “Proskuneo” is translated worship in respect to the worship of Jesus (see Appendix 1 for the other Greek wor…[Read more]

First, some of the ones on here instead of discussing scripture, find it so much easier to dismiss something someone says based on who they are. To me, this only seems to indicate that they really don't have any position to stand on. Why not show why you are right rather than name call? Saying that my belief about worship is wrong because of…[Read more]

Quote How is it possible that Jesus is of the Seed of David? The geanology provided at the beginning of the epistles shows the direct connection coming from David thru Joseph.
