I found this on the knocking thread, I mentioned above.http://knocking.org/ReligiousPersecutionReport.htmlA new film about Jehovah's Witnesses will broadcast nationally in the United States on PBS May 22. The documentary is released at a time when Jehovah's Witnesses are being persecuted around the world. The film explains the historical legal…[Read more]

Quote David,Here is a random thought (you may remember that I have two JW friends who come to visit me every now and then), they told me that JESUS IS HERE already! That he came in 1914. Is this true? Thanks. Not3in1, In 1905 the Watch Tower of September 1 warned: “There will be more war ere long,” also stating that a “great cataclysm” would s…[Read more]

Quote The advent, is a reference guide to what the church believes in, thier creed/statement on scriptures. It gives them the 'substance' on how the church interupts scripture. Is this somewhat similar to the watchtower ?Most denominations have some sort of 'self' help references they go to.I am sorry the attacks come to you, this is not an…[Read more]

There was a documentary on JW's on PBS today. You used to be able to find trailers on www. knocking.orgbut now, I think they've been removed. If you search youtube under Knocking JW, you will find three trailers on this.

Quote David. Could you please tell us why your church founder and spiritual leader Charles Taze Russell is buried under a masonic pyramid. This is wierd and occult. See Do some research:1. Is he buried “under” a masonic pyramid or is the pyramid a monument that was put there decades later by another group that idolizes him?Actually, I'm certain…[Read more]

Quote That wasn't the part that bothered me. Because of this thread and certain posts, I got to wondering if it was God's WILL that I be abused? Not3in1, I say this with absolute certainty. That was NOT God's will. While bad things do happen and God ALLOWS them, he is allowing them for a reason, a much larger reason. It is to show humans…[Read more]

Quote Thank you for your post. I confess, I've been a bit depressed over this thread. I don't usually give in to depression, but for some reason I've been wondering if what happened to me was God's will, and that just breaks my heart and makes me cry.“Time and unforseen occurance befall us all.”(proverbs I think)This scriptures says that…[Read more]

Quote Anyway, it's good that our differences are clear -dualists believe God is different than creation in every way, whereas Jehovah's Witnesses believe God is different most and many ways, but not in all ways. Would you say that's right?Well God is simply not different from his creation in “every way.” So, no I don't believe that.A clear…[Read more]

When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone.
david replied to the topic Dualism in the forum Truth or Tradition 19 years, 4 months ago
That's great. And what does that have to do with what I was discussing?

Hi Olive. Not sure. What is “the advent.”The “watchtower” is a magazine we use. If you look on the cover, you'll notice the full title is “The Watchtower Announcing Jehovah's Kingdom.”Without going into detail, that is it's purpose.MATTHEW 24:14“And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the n…[Read more]

Quote ….it seems that Jehovah's Witnesses believe that God is the same type of being as the angels, a spirit, only much more powerful -an enormous difference in power, but still a matter of degree, not a difference in kind.I didn't really say there is “not a difference in kind.”But, what kind of being is God–a spirit being or a fleshly…[Read more]

Quote t8What are you saying? Are you defending the Jws now?Trinitarians believe Jesus is the real son of God!Jws believe Jesus is the Arch-Angel Michael in the flesh. They also believe that John 1:1 says the “Word was “A” God!Is this what you believe?Your fear tactics by insinuating that if he doens't believe the trinity he'll be compared to JW's is…[Read more]

Quote The JWS claim they are the elite and only those in their organization are saved.Biblical Christianity on the other hand proclaims that all who believes and repents and is born again by the spirit and takes up their cross and follows Jesus are saved, no matter if they are part of an organization or not.First, WJ, I already corrected you or…[Read more]

Hopeu2, if you actually want to discuss what the Bible says, I would love to do that, but in a more appropriate thread. If it is your aim to attack JW's without backing up your claims or using scripture, I'd suggest you do so in one of the JW threads. That's were others do it.david.

Philip Harner is one of those scholars you guys like to quote. Quote And then you say that the angels are the same as YHWH in that they are both spirits. This I would have to disagree with you on. I just can't believe that the Spirit, YHWH, is in essence or substance the same type of spirit that the angels possess. Hi Tim2.I'm not saying the angels are the same as YHWH. I'm saying God “is a spirit.” And…[Read more]

Quote David this is the reason that your religion is a cult. Because it says that you are the “Elite”, the only saved, the only church, and you have the only true bible.1. WJ, you don't know what the word “cult” means, or you don't understand JW's at all.2. WJ, the idea that there are many acceptable ways to worship God, many roads all leading…[Read more]
