Although the Jewish priests continued to make offerings until the destruction of Jerusalem’s temple in 70 C.E., such sacrifices were no longer acceptable to God. They had been replaced by a better sacrifice, one that never had to be repeated. I would like to discuss this subject. Dan 9:26 And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed. Dan 9:27 And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator. Who destroyed the city and the sanctuary? Not the Jews, the Romans. So the prince here would be a Roman leader. Context here says “he” — the Roman leader — would make such a covenant.

This post too. Try to find out more about Vespasian. Supposedly he made a deal with the Jews to allow them to continue sacrifices but after 3.5 years, the Romans broke the deal. They were sending goats over the wall and then the Romans sent a pig. That was the deal breaker as you could imagine.

Vespasian was the one that led the sack of Jerusalem so he matches the prince in these verses.

I do not think G-d is angered as easily as some would have you believe. I don't mean this as an insult, but I do see it as a result of Christian thought. Christianity, sadly, is a faith riddled with guilt. On one hand, some will say G-d is merciful but one the other, Christians are often thumping each other over the head with their leatherbound KJV. The Christians I knew, myself included when I was one, were not a happy lot, because we often heard how if we did not do this or that, we were backslidden.

Could you imagine being part of one of those Christian denominations that felt you could lose your salvation? When would you lose it? At what level of sin would you need to be at to return to the status of heathen? Would watching a rated R movie suffice? Listening to a dirty joke?

Your best bet right now would be to just spend time with family and friends and enjoy them. Rest, do something that puts you in touch with nature. After all, G-d created all of it, so you are really closest to Him when you're close to His work! That includes people too, because even as nasty as some of us can get, we're part of that awesome creation as well. Enjoy that one thing you KNOW G-d has His hand in.

If I remember correctly, Einstein viewed G-d nothing at all like the G-d we see in any religious text. And I certainly don't think Einstein every considered G-d to be one he needed to talk to.

G-d created us in His image, but to think that any human could truly be a god is pulling G-d down to the level of man, wouldn't you say? I know people want to have a personal relationship with Him, but that is a little extreme.

I use “King Messiah” as opposed to just “Messiah” because “Messiah” just means “anointed”. “King Messiah” would indicate the one who will come in the messianic age. And kejonn is correct, that one never is called “messiah” in Tanakh. But I wish kejonn all the luck in the world finding Jesus in Tanakh outside of Deu 13.

That's not boastful, that's just saying I don't need to believe in miracles in a book when I have the wonders of creation before my eyes to view day in and day out. My faith does not hang on words written by men thousands of years ago.
