Hi Nick, what you have written in your opening epistle is all good. If you take the Scriptural perspective of seeing the logos as being Jesus rather than the Scriptures it will be all the more powerful. They loved their traditions (which were largely based on Scripture) more than they loved the Word of God (Jesus).

Hi Cubes, thanks for your post. I see Jesus as the Word (logos) of God. I call the Bible what Jesus called it ie. Scripture.Jesus is the message and the Messenger. The simple truth is that when you read Scripture and you see the Word (logos) of God mentioned, see it as being Jesus rather than the Scriptures and it will take on a whole new…[Read more]

I'm totally amazed. All these posts and no-one has yet been able to show me how the Bible got to be called the Word (logos) of God when it has always been and will always be the most wonderful title given to Him who we call Jesus. That COULD have something to do with the fact that most of the posts have strayed from the topic lol.

heiscomingintheclouds: I hear what you are saying, but can I encourage you to read my page http://www.all4god.net/beyond_pentecost.htm to see in particular about the 3rd baptism, and if you take 10 minutes to look at the PowerPoint presentation you will also see my testimony about the 3rd baptism and an amazing revelation into the 23rd Psalm.

According to my understanding of Scripture there are 3 baptisms. There is the baptism into Christ (water baptism), the baptism in the Holy Spirit and the baptism unto death, which is followed by the ressurection. This is depicted by the 3 feasts that must be kept forever. By being born again you are keeping the feast of Passover. By being…[Read more]

I had some Mormons knock on my door one day. I had nothing better to do at the time so I invited them in. They went through their whole speel and there were a number of times when I had to bite my tongue because they contradicted Scripture a number of times. Anyway, I let them talk until they had finished talking. I then said to them that I…[Read more]

epistemaniac, thanks for the blessings. I always appreciate those. You are absolutely right in that I don't expect you to believe anything I say just because I say it. I love God with all of my heart and worship Jesus wholeheartedly. I embrace the Holy Spirit and look to His teaching and guidance daily.Part of my worship to Jesus is to…[Read more]

I think you missed my point. When I said they were teaching the Word of God, they were teacihing Jesus I meant that Jesus IS the Word of God that they were teaching. Scripture points out very clearly that Jesus is the Word of God made flesh. Nowhere in Scripture is it written that the Word of God became a book.
Oxy replied to the topic Is the Bible the Word of God? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 19 years, 7 months ago
Yeah, they were teaching the Word of God. They were teaching Jesus. Try reading the Scriptures from this point of view. When you see the Word of God, think of it being Jesus, not the Bible and it will have a whole new meaning. It will lift up and bring glory to Jesus instead of the book. Remember that the book is about Jesus, not Jesus about the book.

epistemaniac, thanks for your reply, but if you take the Scripture you quoted with the understanding that the Bible calles Jesus the Word of God you will see that it reads quite differently.

Quote (Nick Hassan @ Aug. 08 2006,20:37)Hi O, The bible does not state anywhere that it, the collection of writings, is “THE WORD OF GOD”However Man cannot live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. Men were under the power of the Spirit as they wrote the words as from the mouth of God. Those words are pure and perfect…[Read more]

How far we have strayed…. *sigh*The original topic was “Is the Bible the Word of God?”I asked this question because we have traditionally called the Bible the Word of God, but I can't find Scripture to back this up. I can see where Jesus is called the Word of God and I can see where a “word” (message) was spoken in given situations, but the…[Read more]

Yep, I was referring to 1 Jn 5:7. So if that verse is wrong I might as well throw my Bible away because it is unreliable.
The fact remains that there is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, but that's kinda getting off the topic. My question is, can anyone show me in Scripture where/how the Bible got to be called the Word of God? I've…[Read more]Oxy replied to the topic Is the Bible the Word of God? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 19 years, 7 months ago
Hi Nick, the Bible says that there are 3 to whom we must give account. The Father, the Word (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. There are many Biblical accounts of the Holy Spirit being an identity in His own right, but as I said before, the 3 are one. There is no blasphemy coming from these lips/fingers.

Hi Nick, the Bible states that the Word was in the beginning with God and the Word was God. It goes on to say that the Word became flesh. The Bible also states that God foreknew us before we were conceived, then we also were born as flesh. There are many such similarities and I don't profess to understand them, but I do know that my…[Read more]

Actually, further to my last post, I have a different relationship with the Father than I do with Jesus. Remember that Jesus was/is the way to the Father, Joh 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me. For further info on this you might want to look at my page http://www.all4god.net/power…[Read more]

Dan 10:21 But I will show you that which is written in the Scripture of Truth… Mat 21:42 Jesus said to them, Did you never read in the Scriptures….. Mat 26:54 But how then shall the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so? As for…[Read more]

Hi, thanks for your replies.I too was told at Bible College many years ago that the Rhema was the spoken word and Logos the written word ie Bible. Thanks for your reply. I totally agree with you, but where is it written that the Bible is the Word of God? Jesus referred to them as the words of God, but my understanding is that there is only one Word of God (Jesus) although a direct message from God can also be called a word of God.What you have shown me is fine, but it does not state that…[Read more]
