Adam,
You said:
Yes few Jews who are lenient towards Christian Messiah interpret Isaiah 53 as referring to Messiah…
There were Jews applying Isaiah 53 to the Messiah before Jesus was born of Mary. Can you see that in your article?

And your example of it being used of YHWH is not the best example because it tells you which Lord, therefore of course you can use the general word if you are defining which Lord.

Please show me where that is in the Bible specifically with the word “human.”

Gene,
You wrote:
When the singular adon is used , it usually refers to a human lord , Adon is used 215 times referring to men.
Do you see that word “usually” Gene? That means that adon doesn’t always refer to a human lord. Therefore, you can not say that the adon in Psalm 110:1 is a human ruler just because it is adon. Adon can also mean a…[Read more]

Adam,
Your article does admit that there were some who thought Isaiah 53 was referring to the Messiah.
Did you come back to HN to cause more division? Did you come back to HN to lead people away from Christ?

Gene,
I agree that LORD in all caps is YHVH and never only a human ruler. I disagree that LORD written in all caps is how the translators indicate the Hebrew word adonai. I also disagree that adon is ONLY for human rulers and I will show you one of several proofs of that:
Isaiah 10:33
Young’s Literal Translation
Lo, the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts,…[Read more]Lightenup replied to the topic Was Jesus Jewish Messiah – What does the Hebrew Bible really say? in the forum Doctrinal Disagreements 3 years, 5 months ago
Berean, good post. That should help Adam (if he really wants help) to see that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah.
I don’t think he wants to see it though, sadly.

The Hebrew word adonai is not found in Psalm110:1.

When you put God and Lord in the same sentence, you usually assume that God is greater.
Agreed. The Father is greater than the Son because the Father as in a father/son relationship naturally has authority over his son. However the father and son would be equal in the type of being that they are.

You said: So if the prime minister said something to a minister, you would assume that the minister was not the prime minister or he would be referring to himself.
If there were two words “minister” in the sentence and one was emphatic, yes. However, in Psalm 110:1 there is only one word translatable as “Lord” from the original Hebrew.…[Read more]

Gene,
The word “LORD” in all caps is how the translators specify the name “YHVH,” not adonai in the OT. The word adonai Strongs #136 is not in Psalms 110 at all. Why you don’t know that by now is puzzling. Would you like help to learn how to read a free online interlinear which shows you the original Hebrew, Greek or Aramaic words with the…[Read more]

Proclaimer,
This is the interlinear for Psalms 110:1, it does NOT say “Adon” in it. It calls the Son “Adoni,” to be read right to left:
From here: https://biblehub.com/interlinear/psalms/110-1.htm
Please see Strong’s 113 for “Lord” and see that it does not merely mean human ruler but can also apply to a divine ruler even YHVH. Gene seems to be…[Read more]

You seem to not be able to grasp the idea that one identity can give his name to another identity resulting in two identities with one name.
