I obviously didn't remove myself properly, when I left, because I've received an email from this thread.
I see that another `debate' has started, so I thought I'd post one more message.
This thread is called the `gratitude thread' and at the beginning of it, the person who started the thread expressly asked that it be left to express things they are grateful for.
Simply, they want it to be a joyous thread. and encouraging thread, an inspirational thread.
Comprende?
God bless!

February 18, 2008 at 11:47 am#82052HeavensParticipantI'm grateful that, even if it was for a short time, I had the privilege of meeting you all.
T8 – thank you for letting me join your website. I enjoyed reading through most of the forums and enjoyed your posts, and Nicks.
Personally, I just found the constant barrage of `anti' posts by a couple of members a bit much. There seemed to be no refuge from them.
It is obvious they would never concede their view, never see anyone else's view, or never allow anyone to believe what they believe just because they wanted to believe.
Mrs – I would really have liked to have got to know you better but I'm used to sites where the environment is encouraging and inspirational, and debates are not so hostile.
Anyway, here's wishing you and yours only good things.
God bless!

Anyway, you win. I'm off.
God bless!

No.I live in the real world where I communicate with my fellow man in mostly positive ways.
I go to a restaurant to enjoy a good meal – not to eat a lousy meal.
I go to a night club to enjoy a good night out – not to have a lousy time.
I join a Christian forum to be encouraged and enjoy the company of Christians – not to have to defend my faith 24/7 because one or two don't believe and won't accept that others have different points of view.
I'm just finding it tiresome.

I'm beginning to think that I need saving from such negativity!t8 There should be a few more `Believers Only' forums at heavens.net otherwise every thread will be filled with the same-old, same-old.

He's about 40, and, yes, I think I'm too soft on him.February 18, 2008 at 7:36 am#82041HeavensParticipantI learnt a lot from Noah and the Ark.
1) Don't miss the boat.
2) Remember that we are all in the same boat.
3) Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
4) Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something big.
5) Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
6) Build your future on high ground.
7) For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
8) Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
9) Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
10. No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.

I started asking all sorts of things when I started to read the Bible, but then I was reading it from go-to-whoa, like a novel. It wasn't until a friend suggested I do one of those `read-the-Bible-in-a-year' readings that things started to fall together for me – because you read a piece of the OT and some of the NT – and it usually ties the two together.
I don't feel confident enough to quote scripture, but you say you believe so all I can suggest to you is to focus on positive devotionals, try a Bible-in-a-Year programme and draw near to God.
God bless!

Yes, that's “me” on the right of the picture.
Have you seen the `Favourite Things' thread?

Mrs, I often have dreams that frighten me to the point that they wake me up.These dreams never have a real `story' or `message' to them and are never finished because the topic wakes me up suddenly.
I wouldn't consider these dreams as visions as I am not left with a suggestion of what I might do and the dreams do not have a message to them.
The dreams that you describe are telling you nothing and are incomplete also.
Unless there is something `good' about them, I'd treat them as nightmares, and not prophetic or visionary.
God bless!
HeavensNot to trivialise the the matter, I have discovered that if I eat dairy foods a couple of hours prior to my going to bed I have such horrific, blood curdling dreams that they make `The Little Shop of Horrors' as tame as `The Sound of Music'..!

Not that you'd admit that. I'd like to ask you if you'd admit it if you wanted something someone else had …
I believe that anyone who was jealous, wished or longed for something that someone else enjoyed would say so at some stage. To use the current `catch phrase'…..anyone can `flip-flop'.
February 17, 2008 at 2:59 am#81917HeavensParticipantFebruary 17, 2008 at 2:49 am#81915HeavensParticipantQuote (Samuel @ Feb. 13 2008,12:41) I had one just recently that I was preaching and I had this paranoid feeling as if people were not believing what I was saying. I'm not even a preacher. And, then I seen this box and it was empty…then I woke up.
I had a dream similar to this once, in the sense that I was `preaching' to a small crowd (I'm not a preacher either). The people in the crowd suddenly indicated that they couldn't hear what I was saying properly.
It didn't matter how loud I shouted, the crowd indicated that they couldn't hear properly.
That's when I woke up.
I don't really know what it means, but assumed that I was lacking confidence in myself to be able to pass on what I had learnt.

Perhaps because we are only human, and imperfect?February 16, 2008 at 9:54 pm#81866HeavensParticipantQuote (Stu @ Feb. 16 2008,21:08) Hi Heavens (try saying that aloud…)
It brings to mind the saying that uses `high heavens' in it, doesn't it?

February 16, 2008 at 8:58 pm#81857HeavensParticipantQuote (david @ Feb. 17 2008,01:52) {Watchtower} is the most widely distributed religious journal on the planet. On the idea of going from house to house, which some people are bothered by…explanation in original message
I have known several people who accepted the `Watchtower' when the JW's called on them (my grandmother being one). It always delivers a positive message as the JW's see it.It is these people's choice, and in some cases, their need at that time for a positive message in their lives and as long as the magazine gives them hope and makes them to pick up or buy a Bible, I think that's a good thing.
On the house-to-house `problem' the same man calls on me once a month. He knows I am a church-goer, I have told him I'm not interested in his magazines or what he has to say … but I know in a couple of weeks he'll be on my door again.
If it was a different person each time I could understand the interruption.
That's what bothers me.
Maybe he's waiting for me to yell `will you go away!' or something? Maybe I'm being to polite?
Other than that, I don't have a problem with someone wanting to spread the Word.

Heaven forbid! It's not His Word that is monotonous….but their visits (despite being told with regular monotony that we are not interested or want them to call).God bless!
