The more I think about JW’s the more I realize they are not sure about what they believe as most all other Christians.
Wow what a revelation!

I guess I never discussed miracles with them, but many other fundamentalists may say the same thing-that is miracles are from the devil especially if the one who received the miracle doesn’t agree with their doctrine.
I do believe in miracles and I also believe good things come from God.As far as denying the power goes, that verse is understood in…[Read more]

What is it about the message to Laodicea that might pertain to the trinity? or that the doctrine of trinity is on the agenda of the last church age.
I do find vs 14 interesting that Jesus calls himself the Amen, the faithful and true witness, and the beginning of God’s creation. ESV Could this somehow point to trinity?
Also in vs 21Jesus says…[Read more]

The protestant reformers or a big majority of them identified the Roman Catholic church with the beast and the mystery harlot Babylon. The orthodox/catholic-trinitarian church identified mystery Babylon with their archenemy the Arians. And the book of Revelation barely made it into our bibles.
The identity of mystery Babylon is clearly Rome of the…[Read more]

I’ve known some JW’s and Mormons who are loving and good people.Yes at one time I condemned them all too, which I don’t anymore. As far as I’m concerned they are my Christian brothers and sisters too.Do they believe in Christ? Yes they do;maybe not in the same way as me but everywhere in scripture I read we will be judged by our works and not by our beliefs.

I don’t see Paul who most Christians exalt above Christ, teaching eternal torment. The wages of sin is death-not eternal torment.Did Christ even die? Most Christians don’t think he did or that anyone dies now.Oh maybe the people in OT times had the grace of dying even as Job thought,so he could finally escape from Gods torments on this earth.

I haven’t read all the posts on this thread,so I don’t know every ones opinions here.I’m not even certain what the ts opinion is but I do know that I once believed in eternal torments which I no longer do.How could a”loving God” condemn people/souls/spirits that he supposedly made damn them in any case to eternal torment? Why would a just and…[Read more]

Yes if we love the Lord we will follow his commands and be slaves of righteousness and carry our cross, yes the Lord said we are no longer slaves but friends if we do as he commands.Be not afraid for my peace I give unto thee, even though I came not to bring peace on earth but rather a sword of division. For the sword of the Lord will fall on those…[Read more]

It clearly shows her brain was still functioning and she felt fear, and her interpretation of that afterward.
A close friend of mine who wasn’t a”good Christian” at the time and to most wouldn’t be considered as such now,was in a car accident in which he broke his neck.He too left his body and was guided by a light to a large set of gates and a…[Read more]

The kingdom is within us,that is the thoughts we have inside ourselves about God.
A scribe was primitively one who could read and write and gave himself for hire to those who could not.
A scribe also later became one who wrote and interpreted the law and those priests and prophets who wrote what we call the bible were scribes. They all had their…[Read more]

Hi Lightenup, I hope you are well and I’m glad to be back and see you here.
Do you still think Jesus came into existence when God said”let there be light”? I seem to recall you saying something to that effect, but I could be mistaken or you could’ve changed your mind on that which is okay too.
But as to your question,if God existed before he…[Read more]

I find it interesting that most manuscripts don’t contain the phrase”for many be called, but few chosen”,but only “so the last shall be first and the first last”. Which in the context of the parable of the labourers in the vineyard it makes sense since those hired last were paid first. So if you include the phrase”for many be called but few…[Read more]

In the verse you quote from Revelation”the beginning of the creation of God”,the beginning merely means origin and some translations word it as such. This appears to me as reason/origin/ultimate source of God’s creation. From such you can argue for Jesus preexistence, but from the Apocalypse or Revelation by itself it doesn’t prove or say he is the…[Read more]

As all the “righteous” die too and earn the wage of death if that is what it is.The original”curse” was physical death.
Paul died too even though at one point he didn’t expect he would, thinking the resurrection would happen first.
In Philippians Paul seems to express his desperation, trying to earn his own personal physical resurrection or…[Read more]
