Thanks Bod and God bless you too!

Does anyone besides me wonder just who Jesus was praying for here? I’ve heard fundamentalists say he was praying for the Jews who rejected and condemned him,but that just somehow doesn’t ring true when compared to so many other verses that teach to the contrary.

It seems to me,in the context that he is praying for the Roman soldiers who were…[Read more]

I don’t pretend to understand everything about crucifiction but I do understand there were various ways it was done and it’s purpose was to be a slow lingering death which caused much suffering. Some are said to have suffered for days.

So depending on how it was performed I think it is possible that no bones be broke. But as it concerns Jesus from…[Read more]

Yes Nick I do acknowledge the fact of the more primitive teaching in Acts but just how do you take the evolved teaching in John? Do you think Jesus was really a substitutionary sacrifice? Acts does not teach that even.

Are you a Pentacostal? do you believe in or speak with tongues?

Was Jesus a man according to you? or was he just a life giving spirit? should you follow this man?

For one thing Bodhitarta I don’t deny worship of the Father but if you have not the Son you don’t have the Father either and he who honors not the Son honors not the Father who sent him according to Jn 5:22,23.

I don’t ignore the fact that Jesus attributed his words and and actions to the Father.I was a part of a conservative unitarian  group for awhile and they still worshiped Christ.

    Hi St.Nick,

Did I ever say men fall to all divine beings? Have men fallen to Santa Claus? I really don’t know, perhaps they have but I’m ignorant of it.I don’t claim to know it all like you.

Do you even worship Christ? or do you just worship the bible, which is really your interpretation of it?

Why even call yourself a Christian if you don’t…[Read more]

I think St.Nick said that quote to me even! But I have never spouted trinity doctrine here, but maybe Santa still just doesn’t like what I say so I won’t be getting goodies at Christmas for not believing him. 🙁

Wow Kerwin, are you grasping at silly straws here? So those who fell down were “secret believers”maybe? If they feared men more than God then certainly they are not believers or worthy of Christ. He who denies me before men I will deny before the Father-didn’t Jesus say that? But maybe he really didn’t mean that too strictly since even Peter denied…[Read more]

bodhitarta, I was placing no special emphasis on people falling down, but asked the question why should or would they fall down over him claiming I am Jesus the Nazarene in John’s gospel? these people didn’t even believe in him so what is the reason they fell down? The story says they did,so why do you think they fell down?

That has nothing to do…[Read more]

Kerwin, that’s fine that you don’t see it as having anything to do with Exodus,I really don’t either, but it very much does speak to Jesus nature in Jn 8:58.If he’s not calling himself Jehovah he’s at least claiming a preexistence and greater status than Abraham for which the Jews wanted to stone him.And St.Jn 12 speaks to that even more as the…[Read more]

Lol Nick, you truly do make me laugh or I would not say that.In John 12 it plainly refers to Isaiah seeing Jesus in the context of the whole chapter. Why is that such a big deal to you? Does it hurt your”holy dogmas”? Oh gosh Nick I hope you’re not damned.I’ll pray for you.I guess you don’t worship Jesus either and maybe you should also convert to…[Read more]

    To Kerwin and Nick,

Kerwin, I know you read the rest of my post. But you choose to pick on the part about the people falling down? And who says temple soldiers were trained in scripture? They weren’t rabbi’s or scribes and that has nothing to do with it anyway. What if they were total unbelievers just doing their job? you don’t know what they…[Read more]

I wonder sometimes just what false doctrine is in terms of religion, when there are countless religions/beliefs in the Christian faith alone. And nearly all Christians damn one another even those within their own denominations, and it’s been that way from the beginning which even the bible testifies to.

I also wonder about the prayer of Jesus in…[Read more]

Yes when Jesus answered”I am” in response to his own question of “whom do you seek?” in Jn18:5,6 it was affirmative of Jesus the Nazarene. But why should they draw back and fall to the ground over that? unless Jesus was a divine being, which is the main point of St.John’s gospel that Jesus is the Son of God.

In Jn8:58 when he says before Abraham…[Read more]

Of course Jesus and the prophets told parables to illustrate truth. And these parables are of course stories unless you want to believe God really is a shepherd who loses track of his sheep,or maybe he’s a woman who loses a coin and must needs sweep her dusty home to find it.Maybe God is actually a big bird who desires to cover her chicks but…[Read more]

Hi Nick,The sons of God are led by the spirit of God? then they have spiritual thoughts no less. And the kingdom of God is not  meat nor drink but is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. And this we can have now;would you agree? Whatever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, think on these things.

Do you seek first the kingdom of God…[Read more]
