It is a very important prophecy.
Dont get put off by those old nations names,because in the end God speaksof all the kings of the nations serving the king of babylon also, for sevety years.
The king of babylon would be satan; not king Neb. The kings of the nations will serve the king of babylon since israel became a nation.

49 (7 weeks) + 434 (62 weeks) = 483 (69 weeks)
(7 + 62 + 1 (1/2-1/2) = 70 weeks of years)The command to rebuild Jerusalem was done by Artaxerxes in the year 457 BC.
483 – 457 = 26AD is when Messiah the prince began his ministry, crucified in

1/The 69th ‘week’ ended with the Crucifixion. There hasn’t been any 7 year period to fit the 70th since then.
2/ Why then, does Daniel also give us 1290 & 1335 day and 3.5 year endtime periods?

Did Jesus death not end the practice of animal sacrifices to cease?
Do you not agree that “HE” is messiah the prince here in Dan 9:27?___________

The sacrifices did not cease until 70 CE and they will recommence when the third Temple is built, as per Ezekiel 46:15
And Ellis Skolfield’s theory of time, times and half a time = 2500 years is very tenuous. His calculation of 533 + 1967 =2500 fails to take account of no year zero. The calc. of 724+1776=2500 fails twice; for the year zero and for Assyrian attack on Israel was in 720, with the final captivity in 718.
Why, anyway, do you deny that there will be a 7 year period before the Return? The whole end times scenario has a logical sequence to it and is designed to be a time of testing for mankind. Expect it all to start very soon!

Re Jesus: Yes, He is among us as a spiritual being. This is proved by His appearance to Paul and to people even today, esp Muslims who cry out to God.

Yes the 62 weeks have been spend. its gone.
There is only eight weeks left; and you are trying to stretch it to last two thousand years. ??
All the 70 weeks has been fulfilled 30 yrs after the crucifix.Which is 70ad.(the spiritual desolation has continued to now).
Case closed. Many are writing books about this, for own gain.
