You missed the point. OF has a meaning. You ignore it sometimes. Anyway you slice it, the Sword is the Word in this example.

Sword of the Spirit = Word of God
Sword (that is of the Spirit) = the Word (that is of God)

Now take out the brackets:
Sword = the Word

And we already know that:
Spirit = God

So:
Sword of the Spirit = Word
&
Sword = Word of God.

But you can't get Spirit = Word.

I guess you can't wrap your understanding around this because your predefined belief blocks your understanding from seeing the obvious.

Self-imposed blindness perhaps?
Would be good if you at least admitted that this was troublesome for you because we are not judged for dull mindedness or lack of understanding. Rather we are judged for ignoring the truth.

What matters here is not pride in one's ability to understand, but that we are honest people who respond to truth in a humble way.
