Quote (Nick Hassan @ Sep. 08 2009,15:06) Hi WJ, They knew Jesus was not their God and Jesus confirmed it in Jn8.54.
From Ps2 they knew of the son of God and His given kingly authority as God's servant.
They served their true father who used them to try to frustrate the plans of God but in doing so fulfilled it.[1Cor2.8]
NHHow could they know anything about Jesus if they did not know YHWH.
They were of their Father the devil. They knew that Jesus claimed equality with the Father and that is why they crucified him. They did not know the “Lord of Glory”, Jesus!

Do you think they were unaware of the scriptures and their God?
Then how did they think he claimed equality with God by saying that he is the Son of God?
Why did Jesus tell them the one they called God was the Father[Jn8.54 ]if they did not know of Him?True sons obey their fathers.
You should believe Jesus is the Son of God too.

Quote (Is 1:18 @ June 16 2010,18:31) Quote (mikeboll64 @ June 16 2010,13:28) His name is YHVH and He is the ONLY One with that name, no matter how you, Paul and Roo try to twist the scriptures.
What scriptural texts have I twisted? The list them and describe exactly how they have been twisted by me.Or retract this baseless allegation.
Then there is the angel who said that His name shall be called “Jesus, for He shall save HIS people from their sins.” The name “Jesus” means “Jehovah saves.” So the angel must have been “twisting” God's truth. The common canned anti-trinitarian reply is that Joshua also means “Jehovah saves.” But the BIG difference between Joshua and Jesus is this: Joshua could not save them,
8 “For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.” (Heb. 4:8-9)
Since Jesus gives us rest when Joshua could not, then Jesus is truly and properly “Jehovah saves” and Joshua was but a shadowy type of Jesus.

Yes it means YHWH saves.
So he is not YHWH.June 18, 2010 at 6:11 am#197880davidParticipantQuote The name “Jesus” means “Jehovah saves.” Why is Christ's name Jesus if He is not Jehovah and Savior? The name “Jesus” does NOT belong to the Father. I'm sorry. This logic, reasoning is not very clear. Is he saying that because the name “Jesus” means “Jehovah saves” that this is proof that Jesus is Jehovah?
For this to be consistent, why don't we look at everyone elses name in the Bible. A lot of them have the name “Jehovah” in them.
June 21, 2010 at 1:40 am#198863barleyParticipantWhy is the name of the son of God, “Jesus”? Why is your name what your name is? Because your parents chose that name for you? Is your last name the same as your parents' last name? Is it a coincidence or is it by design? Does that fact that your last name is the same as your parents serve any useful purpose? Does this same last name help identify you with your parents? Why did George Washington's parents name him George? Maybe they liked the name, maybe it meant something special to them, maybe it would be a reminder of what some older relative or some historical figure did in the past. Would God have named his son the same as the OT's Joshua to help build Joshua's character into the life style and decision making of Jesus? Only Joshua and Caleb said that they should go into the promised land immediately. They believed God and had the courage to act on it. Wow! That could be very inspirational for a young man to learn about and live up to.

Hi Barley,And welcome!
Jesus’ authentic Name [יהשוע] YÄ-shü-ă has a direct connection to GOD’s name [יה]
in that YÄ is the first part of Jesus’ “REAL” name. GOD’s name is not vocalized
in the English translation of the name Jesus and therefore misses the precise exactness
and direct authentic connection to God’s Hebrew name [יה] YÄ. Jesus’ Name in Hebrew
יהשוע means: (“YÄ is salvation” [יה]+[ישע]=[יהשוע]) the salvation of “GOD the Father”=117.“Jesus” REAL name [יהשוע] YÄ-shü-ă authentically establishes [יהוה] “JEHOVAH”
as the highest Name. (Psalm 83:18) Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God(HolySpirit)
also hath highly exalted him(Jesus), and given him(Jesus) a name which is above every name:
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under
the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
People speaking fluent Hebrew know that in essence, [עושהי] YÄ-shü-ă means: “YÄ is Savior”.“The Savior”=117 is “GOD The Father”=117(Gal.1:1);
because he is 117=יהוה האלהים(JEHOVAH GOD) YÄ-hä-vā hä ĔL- ō-Hêêm!God bless
