There you have it. Bod says that “all prophets died for the sins of his people.”I need say no more.

1 Thessalonians 215 Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
Those who believed in the Prophets believed in Jesus and those who doubted and killed the Prophets also desired to kill Jesus.
And as Jesus said what you have done to the least of these you have done to me and likewise those Prophets that were killed were killed for the cause of God which is to bring salvation to men.

What has been fulfilled?People still sin, Evil people like Hitler and Saddam Hussein still rise and commit unspeakable evil so what has been fulfilled and in what way has sin been defeated?

So because Jesus name means YHWH saves that is good enough evidence to make such an announcement?Does God or Joshua or Jesus agree with you?
What of Elijah?
Your reliance on your logic and inference is leading you into some funny places and revealing your independance from scriptural truth.
July 15, 2009 at 11:20 pm#137720KangarooJackParticipantbodhitharta said to Jesus Name:
Quote In other words what you are saying is the same as thinker because the name Jesus means “Jehovah saves” So if you come in the Name of Jehovah is Salvation it wouldn't make you Jehovah, it would make you the representative of Jehovah.
But Jesus saved men. So the name “Jehovah saves” truly and properly belongs to Him.

I ahve already answered this from Hebrews 4 which says,Quote For if Joshua had given them rest (salvation), then he would not have afterward spoken of another day (4:8) Jesus did what Joshua could not do.

Nick,
People can see that you keep asking me the same question after I have already answered you and others. Jesus saved men whereas Elijah and Joshua did not. Is this fact “evidence” in your thinking?thinker

You have told us the name [ and not retrospective history] means he is God but cannot exclude others like Joshua and the many Jesus's who not walk the earth are not God too.July 15, 2009 at 11:55 pm#137728KangarooJackParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ July 16 2009,11:51) Hi TT,

The child was called “Jehovah saves” because He “SHALL SAVE.” Did Joshua save anyone?Good night Nick.
