If one see any contradictions in the written Word; Why must one try to change it, or add to the wordings?
Why never blame it on one self? The reader?
God created the universe and everything in it, can HE not look after His own word? Where is faith in the creator?
Where is believing in His power also?Why do we always think that we are so intelligent that we can judge what is written by God?
Some just ignore some scriptures, because it is not to taste.The scriptures are written line upon line, here a little and there a little.

So understand and accept; if you see a contradiction, it is not the written Word THAT IS WRONG; but you, THE READER.
You need to ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding.
Don’t use own wisdom to try to make sense of what you are reading.The creator of the universe does not make mistakes, believe that; He has written His Word HIS way, for you to seek.
The learned scribes think they are the brain in spiritual matters, and God had it wrong, or HE is of old.
And they have their evolved brain. And the SHEEP see them as masters of understanding God’s Word.
No; we need to depend on the one teacher called the Holy Spirit. All men are corrupt, because of the spirit of the flesh in them. That spirit needs replacing. Replaced by the spirit of Christ. By the renewing of the mind.
So one can see the heavenly, and the worldly through the eyes of Christ.The apostles could not understand what Jesus was saying. And they did not run to the scribes for understanding, did they?
They waited patiently for the Holy Spirit.

But we don’t know; therefore we should all seek in truth and find out. If the scriptures are opened up,
then we know God is drawing. If not; seek some more. Never introduce own opinions.
Not all will be given the same reward; everyone accordingly.1 Corinthians 3:8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one:
and every man shall receive his own reward ACCORDING to his own labour.

wakeup.Because the priestly church government that created the scriptures got things wrong, they didn’t claim to be writing the Word of God. They were just official stories for the illiterate common people who were difficult to manage. Years after Babylon when the Jews returned to Israel those stories became sacred scripture. Centuries later we can see that many of the stories were exaggerated and ridiculous us representations of God.
It takes courage to embrace Jesus Christ and reject those stories which insult the character of God. The old testament should have never been connected to Jesus and contaminate his gospel.

God is the Word, he never wrote those books, God hasn’t written any books, the church government told you God wrote them, so that’s a false argument.
Myself, I pick out the good teachings and leave the stories about genocide and child rape in the garbage where they belong.

Very good op! Do you believe that one translation of the Bible was protected? Do you believe that other translations were not protected? I watched a video that was linked to on HN which gives strong evidence to that possibility. One way to examine which text is accurate is to see how the verse is quoted by the early church fathers and the apostolic writings. They were the Hebrew/Aramaic/Greek language speakers/writers and should understand what was said and meant better than those who do/did not have ancient Hebrew/Aramaic/Greek as their native language. They also lived iin the culture. Perhaps when there is contention here over what a verse is actually saying, the early church father’s writings should be used as strong evidence as to which way a verse was originally written. Of course, the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truths but everyone here claims that they are being led by the Holy Spirit, yet there is such diversity of understandings which are often in opposition.
I have been reading Justin Martyr’s discourse with Trypho, a learned Jew, and many contentions here on HN would be made clear as to what was believed about scriptures back in his day between 100-200 AD. For instance, the Wisdom of Prov. 8:22 is identified as Jesus, the men that meat Abraham are identified as two angels and Jesus who is the LORD in that passage. Also, Justin is clear about there being two persons who are called LORD and that they have one will and that one is the unbegotten and the other the begotten. It really is a very interesting discussion that he has and Trypho could see that Justin was proving many things to him by using the OT to show where Jesus was prophesied about.

T8, your bias is showing again, my post on this thread was spot on the topic of claiming that God wrote the bible, or that he writes <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>ANY BOOKS</span> at all, you just don’t like what I have to say. The Bible is very human written by holy men and reflecting their dishonesty and ignorance.

This thread is not about other books, this is about the old books that were written by Hebrew government men and latter became sacred and eventually the Word of God. This same corrupt class of men rejected Jesus, theses same kind of men ruled the Catholic Church.
I don’t trust any book as “the Word of God” that says ridiculous, untrue things, elevates the arrogant authors as Gods Chosen people and slanders God in the most offensive way. Many Christians realize the OT is horrible.

You are off track and indulging in unbelief. This forum is for those that believe the bible is translated from the written word of God. You clearly do not. The Skeptics forum is where you indulge in such unbelief. This is really not the place for you.
By that admission Spock, you should be posting exclusively in topics in the Skeptics Area. You can be banned for spam or not adhering to a topic’s subject, but cannot be banned if you appropriately post in the appropriate topic and forum.

Wakeup…….GOOD and accurate post brother. There is only ONE TRUE GOD AND THERE IS NO OTHER GOD. With that being said, there has been many changes to our present text especially the new testament over time, because of verious factions and sects of Christianity trying to force the original recieved writings they were given by the apostles to conform to their particular belief systems.
The apostle Paul admonished the Bereans to go the the old testement scriptures that were in existence in his day to correct those things that were being said or written in his day. I believe we still need to do that today, there seems to be more stability in the old testement writings, then in the new, and this is not even mentioning the problem with the GREEK word structure itself. But what you posted from the old testement it quite clear and accurate, IMO
