the Quran made the Bible come alive and become much more vivid I believed in the Bible even more but upon believing more you can also see things from a free moving dynamic perspective,

Bod, so, the Quran's description of hell became much more alive to you?  There is a huge difference in the Bible and the Quran Bod.

Jesus never mentioned anyone else coming after him with a new revelation which is different.  He actually warned against it.  He warned that False Christs and False Prophets would appear and not to be misled.

    Hi Shimmer :)

Jesus didn't say that no one was coming after him he said do not believe it if someone comes and says here or there is Christ (Like Paul did) here is the verse:

    Matthew 24:23-24

    King James Version (KJV)

23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Now it was Paul who said he saw Christ and Paul showed great signs and wonders as well

    Acts 28:3-6

    King James Version (KJV)

3And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

4And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

5And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

6Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

Jesus did say the spirit of truth should come and speak of him.

    John 16:13
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

In the Quran Muhammad does not speak of himself but he writes only what is dictated to him and then it says

14He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Jesus is mentioned in the Quran with much glory

Hi Bod, I hear what you are saying about the Quran speaking of Jesus in a positive way.  (And compared to the Tulmad that is true).  But to state that the Comforter or Spirit was Mohammad (Is that what Muslims believe?  I think I remember reading that somewhere – and it seems to be what you are stating)…

    Jesus said (John 14):

“I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you for ever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him; you know him, for he dwells with you, and will be in you.

“I will not leave you desolate; I will come to you.

Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more, but you will see me; because I live, you will live also.
In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.
He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father,

And I will love him and manifest myself to him.”

So as you can see, the Counselor is sent, and the Counselor is Spirit.  Yet Jesus states it is HIM that will come – in Spirit.

Why do you look to another when Jesus said He is the only way to the Father Bod?

I didn't say he was the comforter I quoted:

    John 16:13
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

This is obviously talking about a person but I am willing to say this does not have to pertain to Muhammad.

See hears the thing and I wish I had made this point earlier even years earlier. The Christian religion is based upon Jesus being a launching pad to faith, right? That is wht every evangelist emphasizes to a possible convert that they should believe in Jesus it is there most challenging aspect talking to someone.

In Islam the belief of Jesus is already present no one needs to convince someone to believe in Jesus in Islam because it goes without saying so Jesus is never a questionable character to begin with it is like no Christian struggles to get anyone to believe in Moses because that part is a given.

Someone trying to convince me to love Jesus sounds actually silly to me because that is a well long ago established part of my belief It's like trying to get me to Marry my wife even though we are already married in other words it's redundant,

It's like me saying “Shimmer, you should post sometimes in the sceptics section” You have been one of the main contributors of this section in-fact you put most other “Christians” here to shame because all they do is argue with each other about endless mostly meaningless details and mostly only to inflate there own egos and agendas so if I said “Shimmer, you should post sometimes in the sceptics section” it should sound silly and be borderline insulting to you.

    Hi Bod.

Firstly, the Comforter is the Holy Spirit not a person of flesh and blood. John 14:25:

“All this I have spoken while still with you.  But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

Can we agree on that, Bod?

Now as for Muslims belief in Jesus, I hear what you are saying. But, WHO is your Teacher Bod? Who do you see (With your Spiritual Eyes) leading you? Who do you hear with your Spiritual Ears? Is it Jesus?

    Agreed!

We gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of apostles; We gave Jesus the son of Mary Clear (Signs) and strengthened him with the holy spirit……

    Matthew 6:6
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

This is what I do I believe Jesus when he says

    John 16:26-27

    King James Version (KJV)

26At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:

27For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

Here is the thing a Muslim who follows the Quran and wants to submit to God the way Jesus does has already been taught by Jesus and now learns directly from God of course this only applies to someone who is behaving righteously

    1 Peter 3:12
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

So yes there are people of all types doing absolute evil but my faith is not in the flesh of man but in the Spirit of God.

You see Jesus was never really teaching you it has always been God(Father)

    John 15:15
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

    John 8:28
Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

So when someone has not enough faith it is perfectly acceptable to be taught by Christ until they can be like Christ themselves

    Mark 9:23

    King James Version (KJV)

23Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

She is not asking if Jesus was comforted with the “HolySpirit”,
But if the Comforter that Jesus was sending was the “HolySpirit”.
Do you believe that the comforter that Jesus sent was the “HolySpirit”?

    Hi BD,

Then you agree that the “the Comforter” in this verse is the “HolySpirit”; right?
John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if
I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

It doesn't say there so he could be talking about a man, he could even be talking about Paul if Paul's story is correct, He could be talking about Muhammad it doesn't say but one thing is for sure Jesus says “He” will not come so that indicates a male. but you have also said you believe that the Holy Spirit is God(Father) if that is so he could not be speaking of the Holy Spirit because he said he was going to the Father he didn't say the Father was coming down afterwards

    Hi BD,

See you attempt to mislead Shimmer into believing that you agree with her when you clearly do not!

Deception is one of satan's tactics, your god 'al-lah' approves of deception, correct?
