    Hi cubes,
The Father does not have a name.
    He does not need one.
Only we and archangels need names as there are more than one of us.
    God is absolutely unique.
What we use for Him are descriptive terms.

Jesus came to present His wonderful loving nature to us and to join us in the same relationship that he has with the Father.

Nick this is practically what I have been trying to share with you and i find you have said it yourself once.

Do these verses bring any clarity to the fact that the Father uses titles and share them with his son?

    Ephesians 5:14

14For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name.

    Revelation 3:12

12 The one who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.

Just as the angels who visited Abraham were working at one with the Father and were called YHWH.

    Genesis 19

24 Then the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the LORD out of the heavens.

The Firstborn Son is the one seen and heard in the Old Testament representing his unseen Father.

He went by the name YHWH.

    Hi MS,
    You said
“The Firstborn Son is the one seen and heard in the Old Testament representing his unseen Father.

He went by the name YHWH. “

    OPINION?

    Dangerous unsubstantiated opinion?

    Hi,
As Heb 1 tells us God has used many means of expressing His words over the eons. Prophets and angels have spoken for God and only recently has the Son been used. So to say that God has always spoken his words through Christ is incorrect.

I dont mean that was his sole means of communicating. It was his way of communicating his presence.

    Example: Mount Sinai

Are you sure you are not reading into hebrews 1 your interpretation?

After it all it talked about the prophets not the patriarchs or Moses.

The prophets received visits from angels or the holy spirit fell apon them, I don't disagree here.

    Hi MS,
The Spirit of God fell on Christ too and God spoke through the Word.
The same Spirit was the rock that followed Moses and the Spirit of the prophets[1Peter 1]
But the Son was never reported as being seen or heard on earth in scripture before his birth.

The scriptures are the basis of true teaching.

Jesus is translated as YHWH SAVES

Maybe mine will be YHWH has mercy (just fun speculation)

    Hi MS,
One God identified Himself as “I am who am”.

We should not go beyond scripture and apply it to others should we?

See this is where I disagree. I do think scripture is describing multiple beings underneath the most high who are called by that title. Not just an angel of YHWH. but referred to specifically as YHWH.

I agree that this name is a title of the most high, Father.

I believe this is evidence (along with other scripture) that he shares this title out. Just as he shares out the title God. (meaning of course mighty one or ruler or boss)

This logic to me seems like a traditional and philosophical approach to the meaning of that name/title.

Is it I AM THAT I AM
Is it I AM WHAT I WILL BE

Scholars are sure “exactly” is meaning even.

Did Jesus use this expression when he said “I AM?”

I know t8 doesn't think so and would wager that you don't either.

Tell me why the guards fell down then when he said that?

    a coincendence?

Did they happen to trip at the moment he said that?

Or was it a statement of divine power that brought them low?

Is it a demonstration of my view that it is a shared divine title to whom the Father wishes to share it?

    Hi MS,
So keeping it simple I AM does not seem to allow us to read it as WE ARE.
God was in Christ in power [acts 10.38, 2Cor5.19]and chose to demonstrate that authority through him.

    AMEN!

why is it so hard to except that that power gets accompanied by a title?

especially when there is a lot of evidence that the title was used by sons of God in the OT?

The I AM presence in each and every true son of the Father.

    Hi,
God identified Himself as I AM WHO AM.
On this site we have heard various opinions that the term refers rather to
    The Son of God,
or both God and His son
    or an angel.

But Is 1.18 has shown, though written as LORD by the scribes, the Name refers to the Most High God, the Lord of hosts.

    Genesis 14:22
And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,
    2 Samuel 22:14
The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.
    Psalm 7:17
I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.
    Psalm 21:7
For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
    Psalm 47:2
For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.
    Psalm 91:9
    Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
    Psalm 92:1
IT IS A GOOD THING TO GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD, AND TO SING PRAISES UNTO THY NAME, O MOST HIGH:
