Hi W,
He was always greater than the angels, except for his time in the flesh when”he was made for a little while lower than the angels” They too were created through him.
They know his superiority and they bow to the great Son of God.July 11, 2005 at 5:04 am#7647WhiteMateriaParticipantAnd this one?
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

So if Jesus is someone else that would make him a 'Mighty God' and Jesus 'The Almighty God' and in effect that would be 2 gods. This is EXACTLY what the Jehovah Witnesses believe… right down to a T. In fact they call Jesus a 'Mighty God' and Jehovah 'The Almighty God' but they fail to see this as 2 gods.July 11, 2005 at 5:14 am#7649NickHassanParticipantHi W,
Then speak with him not us. He said he was the Son of God. I believe that though many others call him a liar and say he was the Father of the Son of God in disguise. Your call there.July 11, 2005 at 5:19 am#7650WhiteMateriaParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ July 11 2005,06:14) Hi W,

Indeed Jesus did say he was the Son of God yet God said he would be called a Mighty God and The Everlasting Father. Whom are you going to believe more? God or Jesus Christ? Whom did even Jesus Christ follow? God or himself? Go ahead and answer how you would answer with what you believe now because we both know that you believe God is over Jesus Christ. And yet God said this and Jesus Christ said that. Do you believe both or one and not the other? It is time to put all of the Word together and not just half of it! And a third showing also claims of Angels worshipping their 'Mighty God'. Do you believe Jesus Christ is another God?July 11, 2005 at 5:23 am#7651NickHassanParticipantHi W,]
Did Jesus call his disciples his “children”? Yes.
So he was a father to them just as Paul called others his children too.The Son of God is of divine nature. But we worship his Father in spirit and truth as he told us to do… and we do call him Lord and obey him don't we?.
July 11, 2005 at 5:25 am#7652WhiteMateriaParticipantIs the son 'The Mighty God' as the Bible claims?
Is Jesus Christ 'a god' himself?
This is not saying he is of a divine nature but that he is in fact 'The Mighty God' just as it says

Did I ask if we called him Lord or not? No!I asked if he is 'The Mighty God' and there is a difference between God and Lord.
Is he 'The Mighty God'… Yes or no?
July 11, 2005 at 5:28 am#7654NickHassanParticipantHi W,
For us there is ONE GOD ..and One LORD Jesus Christ. Is Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God? So he is separate from the Father who begat him? So how can he be another deity? It is you who say he is not us.
We say as scripture does,he is “the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father”. The Father was not begotten was He?

It is a very simple question and you are fidgeting with it. WHY?

How can Jesus Christ show us the greatest love and God cannot if God is love?
July 11, 2005 at 6:00 am#7658AnonymousGuestNick,
You keep refering to Jesus as a “vessel”. Do I assume you mean that He was merely a container for God's Spirit and nothing He did was creditable to Him? But are not all spirit filled christians vessels for God's spirit? What dfferentiates Christ for us in that respect? Your theory, taken to its logical conclusion, promotes the idea that Christ is just like us. But the NT says otherwise.Re: epistemaniacs comments. Im sure the phasisees didnt recognise the spirit in Jesus when he called them a brood of vipers but he was nonetheless guided by the spirit in all His dealings with others. Spirit filled fellows can make seemingly harsh observations of others but the tone doesnt make them not true.

Hi,
Jesus is A God but not the God who is his God and whom we worship. Is he another god to you to worship?July 11, 2005 at 6:21 am#7660WhiteMateriaParticipantIf the angels can worship him why can't we?
Jesus is God incarnet and therefor he is worthy of worship.

blah blah blah blah, and the Word was a god.
Are you sure you don't want to become a Jehovah's Witness? They believe Jesus was 'a god'.

You seem to be full of anger
July 11, 2005 at 7:17 am#7663stroshowParticipantWhiteMateria: do u have an explanation for this? And who's name is he writing down?
Revelation 3:12 (English-NIV)
Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God.
Never again will he leave it.
I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name.July 11, 2005 at 10:25 am#7665NickHassanParticipantHi ,
We get grilled for teaching only what is in the Word of God, and yet those most critical blithely do not do so, and use speculation and derived teachings such as trinity. Why do they not look to themselves before they judge others-the plank is very obvious in the eye? - AuthorPosts
