    Hi T,
God is in heaven-that is where Jesus told us to pray to Him[Mt6]
The spirit does not mean anything to do with our useless accomplishments.
It is the gift of life given to Adam and passed on to us.[Gen2.7] Without it we are dead[Jas2]

    nick

    you got that totaly wrong;

why would God sacrifice his son so that men can be saved?
    God love the righteous man.
and cornelius whos deeds were so good and many that he received the Holy spirit directly from God.

God is in heaven-that is where Jesus told us to pray to Him[Mt6]NO HE SAYS OUR HEAVELY FATHER, but we know that God is not far from any of us.

The spirit does not mean anything to do with our useless accomplishments;wrong again nick,

God love us and want everyone to be saved and come to know his will and apply it so he can save that man,
God love his own action so wen men does do good and godly deeds God love the actions of that man,and the works of that man are not useless.

    Hi T,
Yes the same invitation given by Peter still stands.
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but shall have eternal life.

    The Son said
” You must be born again”

The world does not listen to him

But Scripture tells us man is body, soul and spirit and that there is a diviosion between soul and spirit.

    1 Thessalonians 5:23

    Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

We should then try to find those verses where it is written SPIRIT but means SOUL.

    Hi Nick,

Spirit = nephesh (noun, fem) (man's) Gen 2:7

Spirit = ruach (noun, fem)(God's) Gen 1:2 ….the spirit of God

Funny how Greek makes it neuter and Hebrew makes it feminine….which is correct?

    David,

So you are revealing your 'sound byte'

You are of the 'feminine persuation'

You see the lacking of female parts in the Bible and feel you need to reAdress the 'imbalance'.

Wow, you love yourself, in your attempt to do that.

Satan, indeed, has taken over his earth kingdom and certainly knows his own.

Nick………Why can't you understand a Soul (IS) a BODY with SPIRIT (IN) it. Adam did not become a living SOUL untioll He recieved the Spirit of GOD (IN) Him then He became a LIVING SOUL. Not before that. Jesus plainly GOD could destory Us by leaving our Bodies in the GRAVE. Remember He said GOD could destory (BOTH) two things in the GRAVE. WE know when a man dies his spirit go back to God who gave it, the only thing left is the Body and it goes into the graves and corrupts or parishes, that is it , unless we recieve a new body and God adds Spirit into it. The idea that a soul keeps living after death is a pagan ideology , scripture says the dead know nothing their thoughts Parish in the day they die , that is it for ever, unless Gdd resurrects a new body and add spirit back into it. A resurrection of a Body is crucial to salvation Jesus and all the apostles understood that a resurrection was absolutely necessary for us to continue to live.

peace and love to you and yours brother…………………………gene

    Gene,

You are mentally blocking yourself from hearing the word “living”.

A body plus the breath of life equals a living body, a living individual, or a living soul.

Unlike what you are claiming we do not stop existing because our body dies though Adam did not exist before he became a living soul.  We also did not exist before we became a living soul when we were conceived in our mother's womb.

Nick, as you have correctly pointed out, man is to be body and soul and spirit.  I Thessalonians 5:23

“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Regarding your request for places where spirit is referring to soul

    Consider the following passages:

    Matthew 27:50

    Mark 8:12

    Luke 8:55

    Luke 10:21

    Luke 23:46

    John 19:30

    Acts 7:59

    I Corinthians 5:4

Galatians 6:18 or it could mean the innermost part of a man's being, ie, heart.

II Timothy 4:22  or maybe means spiritually.

    James 2:26

    James 4:5

I John 4:2  the second use

    I John 4:3

I looked them up in a reference book, the work is not mine, but the author spent decades working the subject.

    Nick,

Man was created with two sides; the material from earth and the non-material from heaven.  Both the soul and spirit are non-material.

The scroll of  Ezekiel forecasts that the spirit and heart are to be changed.  Can a soul be altered?

    Ezekiel 11:19
    King James Version (KJV)

19And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:

    What is meant by heart?

    Nick,

    It is written:

    1 Corinthians 2
    King James Version (KJV)

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

What meaning of spirit in man corresponds to the Spirit of God?  Is there a part of man and God where the deep things are stored?

    Hi,
    This can be a problem.
    Soul can be called spirit.

    There is a difference

    Every persons soul is different,
    and will be judged accordingly.

Every mans spirit is different also.
Depending on each own lusts, and hunger.

I hunger for seeking God;that is my spirit.
My spirit does not hunger for things of the world.

My soul is the essence of my being.
What I am in God's eyes.

    wakeup.
