Peter tells us salvation of the soul is the plan.

Man is body soul and spirit.June 21, 2010 at 5:24 am#198884GeneBalthropParticipantNick……….Wrong Man is a Body that has spirit (IN) it, and that is what a living Soul is. Jesus said to fear GOD who can destory (BOTH) Body and Soul in the Grave, Why (BOTH) because a Soul is only a Soul, if it is a combination of SPIRIT (and) A BODY. When they separate the Soul no longer exists. God did no leave Jesus Body or Soul in the Grave to see corruption, He raised it up and added Jesus Spirit back into it, and Jesus again became a Living Soul. A resurrection of a body is absolute necessary for us to continue to live again after death as a Living SOUL. Just as it was necessary for Spirit to be added into Adams Body in order for him to become a Living SOUL.
A BODY + SPIRIT= A LIVING SOUL nothing MORE AND NOTHING LESS. IMO
peace and love to you and yours……………………………….gene
June 21, 2010 at 5:35 am#198886SimplyForgivenParticipantSo spirit is life? breath of life from Gods nostrils
and the body is what we use to manifest our will….
soooo isnt the soul our personality, like the person we are?or which is it?

You have brought up a good point for thought, research, and prayer. For God will lead those who seek him to the truth.
June 21, 2010 at 9:37 am#198905Tim KraftParticipantAll: As far as the Bible tells us I agree with Gene. We are a piece of God/Spirit, cloaked with the soul, living in a physical body. Spirit in its purest form of light permeates all that exists. It cannot be framed or formed. To hold, if you will, the Spirit within the body the Soul is the house of the Spirit within the body. In a way the Soul gives us a form of individuality/personality/separation even though we are ONE together. My thoughts, TK

so your saying there is a spirit, body and soul?ok im not understanding your claiming two, yet where does someones personality fit? Identity
June 21, 2010 at 1:50 pm#198932GeneBalthropParticipantSF………..Your personality is not Separated from your body, it is the function of your mind (IN) you body, Spirit is simply (Intellect) that gives the physical mind its perceptions and is the life source of the Body it animates it, and produces thoughts, it is the true source of life, But all spirit has always existed and God simply gives us some, each person has his share of Spirit that comes from GOD and when He or she dies it returns back to its source God. Spirit can be poured out or collected, it can be given or removed Spirit can not die, just as thought can not die, it can become inactive as when a person dies or if it is removed from him as in the case of an unclean spirit.
It says “When a man dies (HIS) thoughts (PARISH)” , why, because it separates from him and he is no longer a (LIVING SOUL). He will remain that way for ever unless GOD creates a (BODY) and adds Spirit back into it. It is vital we all recieve new eternal living (BODIES) with SPIRIT in it in order to be a LIVING SOUL Again after death. No where in scripture does it show a man being brought back to life without a BODY. Jesus was resurected with His body, the valley of dead bones show the general resection taking place of (ALL) the House of Israel and they all had Bodies and Spirit was added back into them. Again A BODY + SPIRIT = a SOUL.
If Jesus did not need a body he would not have been raised with one would he. He plainly said He was not a Spirit because a Spirit does (NOT) Have flesh and bone as He said He had, and yet that body went through a closed door , disappeared, and appeared , rose up to heaven in a cloud, Jesus still has a Body and we will to after the resurrection , the only one who lives out side a body is GOD HIMSELF. He is PURE SPIRIT LIFE and lives vicariously in and through his creation. Like it says that GOD may be (ALL) a in (ALL). All life has GOD (IN) it or it simply would not have life. IMO

You quoted these in another thread.Ps 32:2 Blessed is the man
whose sin the LORD does not count against him
and in whose spirit is no deceitPs 51:10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.They are examples when spirit means soul
June 30, 2010 at 7:40 pm#201050GeneBalthropParticipantNick……….There can exist No soul without a Body + Spirit in it. both must be present to be a Soul, any permit separation of these the person no longer exists. Why do you think Jesus was raised up with a Body if it was not necessary for him to have one, use you head man think!. A body is one thing and Spirit another, but it takes Both to be a Soul Just as it did Adam.

kerwinthis is only tells you what we can do with our spirit,
now we have to look for what God can do with our spirit if we let him do it.

God does nothing with our spirit except accepting it back at our death.

nicki have shown you, that the word SPIRIT does not always means soul,
and it as to be understood in the context.
But our spirit returns to God[ecc 12]that were God his ,everywhere even in our appointing location. The soul is not the spirit[Heb4
Heb 4:12 The word of God is living and active. It is sharper than any sword that has two edges. It cuts deep enough to separate soul from spirit. It can separate joints from bones. It judges the thoughts and purposes of the heart.here the spirit means what we have accomplishing and what we are doing with our soul,
but at the end the soul and our spirit become one and wen the flesh dies the soul remains ,without flesh but with all our works either good or bad.Pierre

God is in heaven-that is where Jesus told us to pray to Him[Mt6]
The spirit does not mean anything to do with our useless accomplishments.
It is the gift of life given to Adam and passed on to us.[Gen2.7] Without it we are dead[Jas2] - AuthorPosts
