True religion is defined in Jas 1.
We are trying to follow Jesus and the teachings of the bible rather than promoting the doctrines and divisions of men.November 16, 2009 at 10:26 pm#157403Worshipping JesusParticipantQuote (peace2all @ Nov. 16 2009,17:21) was wondering what religions everyone here is. there are a lot of good answers and discussions here and lots of insight. would like to know and your stance on the major factors that seperate each who argue. the cross – birthdays – holidays – trinity – hell – gods purpose for earth with adam(paradise earth) – salvation(requirements) – what bible version used? i want to learn and have my knowledge for the scriptures(bible) grow. thanks

November 16, 2009 at 10:38 pm#157404peace2allParticipantnick i asked a simple question. never did i ask someone to promote a certain religion or a doctrine. if everyone here can talk about their beliefs then its no big deal if one answers my question. i would like to know what religions you all are and your standings so i may use all inputs to learn from and then possibly one day decide which church or path i right for me. i am not asking anyone to fight or insult or argue or anything, just a simple question of honest interest is all. never asked what true religion is either i am not trying to put a wedge into anyones choice. i for one have no religion yet. i was raised a jehovah's witness but never got baptized and only went because i had to up to age 17. im now 39 and am very interested in my salvation and bible scripture and knowledge. and this website seems to be very good for a healthy discussion and independent gathering of opinions and insight. Thanks WJ!

There is salvation in no other name under heaven than Jesus Christ.
You must be born again of water and the Spirit into the body of Christ.
Repentance and baptism as Peter preached at Pentecost is still the way.November 16, 2009 at 11:02 pm#157406bodhithartaParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Nov. 17 2009,09:41) Hi p2a,

This is in contradiction to what you just stated:[Q]True religion is defined in Jas 1[/Q]
Believe in God and the prophets and his Christ, believe in his Holy Angels, The Judgement and Salvation through repentence.
Be good to your near and far relatives as well as the stranger.
God gives the Holy Spirit to whom He pleases and He has Mercy on whom He pleases:
And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
Exodus 33:18-20The main thing is understanding that GOD is REAL and will turn to you if you turn to HIM.
November 16, 2009 at 11:06 pm#157407peace2allParticipantok nick you aren't answering my questions. not sure what you are doing. i beleive what you wrote. we need to accept jesus as our savior and only means of salvation due to his sacrifice and that we need to be baptized and do gods will. same page there, but lots of other religions go beyond that and add man made doctrines as teachings. those are not gods will. so if you beleive in that and then also non scriptural doctrines (not gods will) you are not doing what jesus wants and taught which is to do gods will. then you are not on the right path to the kingdom. thanks. hi bodhitharta , i have been praying a lot and the thing i have asked is for me to not fall back on my ways and to keep seeking his word and to further gain understanding of his word. i swear that everyday i am compelled to read teh bible and yurn to learn. so i agree if yuo turn to him and want to have a relationship through frayer taht he does come to you i guess through his holy spirtit or whatever but i feel as though he is helping me and guidung me for what i asked for. it feels right and hope to keep learning. i actually like to talk about the bible and learn, but i do not want to argue or insult others though.November 16, 2009 at 11:14 pm#157411NickHassanParticipantHi BD,

thanks nick, im kinda at that state too, no certain church for me. my thinking though is that the bible does say that we should be apart of like minded people and use that as strenght and growth in learning and help from falling into temptation. so one day im probably gonna need to not be all alone on this journey. although its not required from what i take from the bible, you don't have to be apart of a certain faith just as long as you accept christ as only means of salvation from his sacrafice and we repent our sinful ways and do gods will and be as loving and moral as possible and not believe in mans doctrines only scripture(gods own word)god knows we will falter but as long as we are true and try to be good it is still ok, we are born of sin.November 16, 2009 at 11:30 pm#157413NickHassanParticipantHi p2a,
Seek first the kingdom.
Baptism in the name of Jesus is rebirth of water.[Rom6]
Thus you can enter the kingdom but before you obey you cannot see the kingdom[Jn3].
then seek the Spirit.[L11]Your journey begins.
Men will tell you other things but scripture is truth.

We were not born of sin, God made man and saidGenesis 1:26-31 (King James Version)
26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

You have been deceived and God wants you to return to the right state of mind:

to be apart of that kingdom you need to have faith, and that salvation is from god only,he gives to those who put forth faith in the sin atoning sacrifice of his son jesus christ. baptism, and do gods will. and yes the kingdom i agree. matt 11:11,12 – the kingdom of the heavens is the goal toward which men press. that kingdom is the reign of god on earth and he will reside with them on his paradise but to get that kingdom we need to do his will and accept christ. wondering though jesus did tell his deciples to go forth and make disciples and baptize them but i don't see where is says you have to in order for you to have salvation. is there such scriptures.November 17, 2009 at 12:11 am#157417peace2allParticipantQuote (bodhitharta @ Nov. 17 2009,10:46) Quote (peace2all @ Nov. 17 2009,10:18) Quote (Nick Hassan @ Nov. 17 2009,10:08) hi p2a,

God did not say Cain and abel were born in sin in-fact Abel was thought of as very pure and good indeed.Enoch was not called a sinner, Noah was called perfect and upright, Job was called perfect and upright
These people were not called sinners and Jesus himself doesn't say that all people are sinners saying:
When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Mark 2:16-18I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
Luke 15:6-8we are simply not all born into sin. Do you think that a couple who has become “Born Again” then can have a Child born in sin? Of course not.
Jesus came from the womb of a woman if she was born in sin then he would have had to have been born in sin. That is why some chuches try to teach that Mary was also without sin so how could she be born in sin unless her parents also commited no sin?
Keep in mind that the first time sin is mentioned in the Bible is God telling cain to do what is right and that if he did not do what is right he WOULD SIN and he did SIN but God never said that cain was a sinner at birth.
