Hi MF,
Out of the mouth comes what the heart is full of, including the Spirit, in the anointed ones.September 29, 2008 at 3:35 am#108930malcolm ferrisParticipant
Matthew 16:13-19
Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” they said, “Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.”I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.It was not sufficient to recognize that the Son of Man was a prophet, the people readily saw and understood this, but it was Peter who got the key revelation of who the Son of Man is. He did not say that the Son of Man was a flesh and blood man like any other, by a GOD given revelation he confessed that the Son of Man was the Christ, the Son of the living GOD.
In other words it was a revelation of the Father and the Son (in that order), GOD in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. And it was this revelation that Jesus said GOD would build His Church upon.
That’s of course all IMHO…September 29, 2008 at 3:42 am#108932NickHassanParticipantHi MF,
Certainly all the prophets manifested the Spirit of God in a limited way but that Spirit was fully revealed in every way in Christ Jesus.Jn3
34For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.The disciples answered according to a spiritual understanding and not fleshly as you say. Peter was mainfesting the first shoot of that planting by going further and identifying the Son/King of Ps 2 and prov 30.

John 12:34-36 … The crowd answered him,
‘We have heard from the law that the Messiah remains for ever.
How can you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up?
Who is this Son of Man?’
Jesus said to them,
‘The light is with you for a little longer.
Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you.
If you walk in the darkness, you do not know where you are going.
While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of light.’
After Jesus had said this, he departed and hid from them.Who is this Son of Man that Jesus was always speaking of? Light!
Now light is that which makes the hidden manifest.
Jesus' ministry, as a light, lifted the veil of obscurity on God and brought man face to face with the Almighty.
The Light of the Word which is GOD – for Jesus' ministry was not of himself but rather a declaration of his Father.July 18, 2009 at 11:56 pm#138006NickHassanParticipantHi TT,
If you say Jesus is the Son of man and also is God does that make God the Son of Man?July 24, 2009 at 3:39 am#138666NickHassanParticipantHi TT,
