I understand the inward self of Jesus is from heaven but in this case the inward self is not his soul but rather his spirit.

He is from above but those that do not believe are from below. The father of his spirit is God while the father of unbelievers is Satan. This is what Jesus told certain Jews and in that case it is certain he was speaking of his spirit and not his soul or body.

I can only go by what Jesus teaches and what he states is the Spirit of God teaches us.

I know that we are also instructed to get a new spirit even we have a human spirit.

I know the inward man is renewed as is the spirit of our minds.

I also know the Law, word, of God is written on our hearts by the Spirit.

It is my understanding that the spirit of our minds might want to do all that is righteous but without the Spirit of God it walks according to the flesh.

So it seems to me that a believer’s spirit has the choice to walk either according to the bestial nature of humanity or according to the desires of the Spirit of God. If it chooses the later then it is empowered to do so.

Before I answer that you must understand that I am confident the title “The Spirit of Christ” is a alias for the Spirit of God, whose purpose is to illustrate Jesus’ position as mediator between God and humanity. I also disagree with your interpretation of Micah 5:2.

Yes, I believe Jesus was born with the Spirit of Christ having receive God’s Spirit after he was conceived.

I believe he was in God and God was in him because he never sinned though tempted as is common to humanity.

I have no idea when a person received the human spirit. I doubt it occurs when they are a conceptus since they are a one celled creature at that stage. It is possible as even the gametes that fuse appear to have the breath of life; but then so do trees which are considered physical creations in scripture.

On the other hand I have more evidence to go by with when Jesus’s spirit was formed of the Holy Spirit. I know John the baptist leaped in his mother’s womb because he recognized Mary as the mother of the coming Christ. At that be at least to the soulish state of creation and so able to be tempted by sin. Jesus did not sin so he had to have an alternative to walking according to his flesh.

The only other possibility he lacked the ability to walk according to the flesh even though he was tempted by it. Even in that I think case he would have to have the Spirit in order to walk according to it as there is no third choice mentioned in Scripture. Perhaps it is not needed as Adam and Eve did not sin and Satan will be chained for an age. In short there is too few facts to go on and the the fact he was tempted as we are but without sin proves even this tentative hypothesis false.

In conclusion I see no real Scriptural way that Jesus’s [spirit] was not formed of the Spirit of God within his mother’s womb.

I am going by what is written.

God only gives human the choice to walk according to the Spirit or walk according to the flesh. The fact is Jesus did not sin even though tempted as we did and so never walked according to the flesh.

The only speculation I have done is look for another way for Jesus to have not sinned while also not having the Spirit to walk according to and what little there is to support that other way does not fit with the claim that Jesus did not sin though tempted as we are.

It is you that speculates in order to support your theological theory. My speculation is to disprove mine.

It is like your theological theory that Jesus’ body is not flesh in heaven. You have to speculate that Jesus transformed from flesh and bone to another body as he ascended to heaven while I simply do not believe he did. Instead I believe his body was sown mortal flesh and blood and raised immortal flesh and blood just as Paul testifies happens to all believers but those that are changed.

Sorry, I forgot your concept of soul is not the same as mine.

I believe the soul is the basic identity of self while the body is its interface with the world. As you the body is a minor part. The human spirit appears to be the human will. In all they are the three part nature of a human.
