Since Ken was so strict when it came to the Sabbath I have looked at this again. I have a question.
Which of the law has Jesus Christ fulfilled. Was it all of the Law that God gave to Moses, or only the sacrificial Laws? Jesus was our perfect sacrifice, so what does that mean?Math. 5:17 Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets, i did not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
verse 18 For assuredly, I say to you, til heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the Law til all is fulfilled
verse 19 ” Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of there commandments and teaches men so shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Does all of this mean that we are still bond under that law to keep the Sabbath or is what it says in Galatians the case.
Galatians 2:16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal Life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Ephesians 2: 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.
verse 9 not of works lest anyone should boast.
So here we have it. On one side eternal life is a free gift of GOD. And on the other side we are bond under the law to keep the Sabbath.
What do you think?

Nick How often have I said that I am under the blood of Jesus Christ and the new Covenant. I have been born again at Baptism and have had layed hands on me and have received the Holy Spirit. Now I understand so many things which before I did not. Did you want me to repeat it?Peace and Love Mrs.

But you still have not answered my question. Which law? Romans 8 does not answer that. The sacrifial Law or the 10 Commantments?March 15, 2008 at 10:12 pm#84031NickHassanParticipantHi Mrs,
The Law of the Spirit, the law of love is written on your heart.
Romans 13:8
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.Romans 13:10
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.Galatians 5:14
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.James 2:8
If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:Do you need still to be told what not to do?
Or are you motivated by love?March 15, 2008 at 10:23 pm#84033seek and you will findParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Mar. 16 2008,10:12) Hi Mrs,

Question Nick Do you believe that there are different laws that God gave to us or not? Did Christ fulfill all of the law? Then what about the sermon on the mount. If it would be that easy that all we had to do is believe in Jesus Christ then why is the road so steep and few will find it. No the Law was magnified and made spiritual. Does that include the Sabbath?
If we Love OUr Father would we not keep His Commanments?
That does include the Sabbath does it not?Peace and Love Mrs.

Was Jesus teaching anything new in the Sermon on the Mount, or was he just teaching established Jewish theology?Oh, and just a little correction on what you say about the “road being steep”.
- Mat 7:14 “For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

March 16, 2008 at 7:42 pm#84087NickHassanParticipantHi Mrs,
He did remind the Jews about some of the commandments given to them.Mt 18
17And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.18He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mt22
36Master, which is the great commandment in the law?37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38This is the first and great commandment.
39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
One is missing

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.So Christ fulfilled the Law

nick I do believe that Jesus Christ fulfilled the sacrifical Law, but the 10 Commandments He magnified them on the Sermon on the Mount. As far as the Sabbath is concerned is a question that is still not to clear to me, if we to keep it because we love God and we should keep what God loves.
Hebrew tells us that there is still a rest for the people of God. Question is that meant for us to keep the Sabbath?
Since all was made spiritual, it just doe not make to much sense to keep something physical like the Sabbath. I just find it odd that we still should keep everything spiritual except the Sabbath. I have believed for some time now since we have God's Holy Spirit living in us, that we should keep every day to the LORD. The physical is not imputed to us. Worship God in Spirit and in Truth.Peace and Love Nrs.
