Many speaks of paradise but have no idea what and where it is.
The thousand year kingdom will consist of the jews of al generations brought back by choice;
in the flesh. they will live with no tears, no pain, no sorrow, and will live up to 100years.
The animals will not bite; the lion and the bear will play with a child, and the lion with the lamb.
This is paradise to them; but a kingdom of the saints ruling as kings and priests.(isa 11 and 65).Outside of paradise will live the remnants of the gentiles; they have survived Armageddon,
because not all the gentiles will be killed. They also will multiply like the sand of the sea.
Paradise will be in Israel and the city called Holy Jerusalem, the city of God.
The saints will teach the jews about Chris’; and the jews will teach the gentiles outside.
many of the gentiles will accept and be converted.
Only then knowledge shall cover the earth as the sea cover the earth; That can not be said for now.
So; paradise is not in some third or fourth heaven, or what ever has been said. For sure, Moses and Ilijah are there now in spirit, because Jesus spoke to them at his transfiguration.
Jesus said this:Matthew 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man COMING IN HIS KINGDOM. (IN VISION). And
Matthew 17:1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain. And they saw the kingdom, in a vision.Shalom.

Jn 19:31 Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jews did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down.
Jn 19:32 The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other.
Jn 19:33 But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs.
Jn 19:34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.the thief die after Christ why would he not received the promise ? the scriptures could be written just with a coma displace by one word ,

Not anyone say lord, Lord can enter into the kingdom.

Paradise is a word in the English Language.

Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary: a very beautiful, pleasant, or peaceful place that seems to be perfect
: a place that is perfect for a particular activity or for a person who enjoys that activity
: a state of complete happiness
1
a : eden 2

c : heaven

: a place or state of bliss, felicity, or delightNovember 4, 2014 at 12:14 pm#782054WakeupParticipantKerwin.
To know something about this place is to read Isaiah 11 and 65
Zechariah 14:8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
Zechariah 14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
Zechariah 14:10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king’s winepresses.
Zechariah 14:11 And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.

The word paradise only appears three times in the New Testament, (Luke 23:43, 2Corinthians 12:4, and Revelation 2:7).
In both verses, Paradise is in Heaven.
“I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago—whether in the body I do not know, or out of the body I do not know, God knows—such a man was caught up to the third heaven. And I know how such a man—whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, God knows— was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which a man is not permitted to speak.”
The word “caught up” in this context is found in 1st Thessalonians 4:17, and Revelations 12:5
“Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.”
“And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God and to His throne.”
Paradise in that context is clearly in heaven. However, eventually the new Jerusalem will come down onto the New Earth.

You do know that Jesus did not go to paradise the day he died, don’t you?
This is what we testify, that the Son of God was dead for 3 days and rose.
He was really dead, no pretending. Totally disconnected to the world, and separated from God for those three days.So if Christ did not go anywhere except to the grave that day, then how could he be in paradise?
How could he take the thief with him that day?
Unless you think paradise is the grave/death/hell?November 4, 2014 at 1:13 pm#782167WakeupParticipantCamellia.
If you just have the time; can you read Isaiah 11 and 65?
That is paradise like it was in the beginning.
No wars, no tears, no sorrows, no pain, the lion ate straw.
Paradise will be ruled by Christ and His saints, for a1000 years.
That paradise is the kingdom of God and His saints.
Paul was there in spirit vision, not physically.
Moses and Ijijah are there in the kingdom of God, when Christ spoke to them in a vision.

There is more than one paradise. There is only one Eden as far as I know. Paradise is a generic class that includes Eden and other places including the world to come. Paul applied it to the third heaven and Jesus described a paradise as the place Lazarus dwelt after his death in the parable of the rich man and Lazarus.
The thief and Jesus died that day and went to a place Jesus called Paradise and since Lazarus also dwelt in a place that was a paradise after he died it seems reasonable to me that they were both in the paradise of what the KJV calls Hell.

This is an old debate also with the jw’s.
1.Verily I say unto you today,,,,, you will be with me in paradise.
Jesus did not say when; He is only saying you will be, with me in paradise.(WILL BE).
THIS IS WHAT YOU BELIEVE; HE IS NOT IN PARADISE YET; BUT WILL BE.WHEN; IS JUST A GUESS.2.Verily I say unto you,,,, today you will be with me in paradise.(TODAY YOU WILL BE IN PARADISE).
But we know that Jesus did not go to paradise that day, but He went to His tomb according to scriptures.
And Jesus was resurrected on the third day; NOT ON THAT SAME DAY.
The thief can not be resurrected before Jesus.(ON THAT SAME DAY HE DIED).
Jesus is the first in everything incase you don’t know.
THIS IS WHAT I BELIEVE.Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that OVERCOMETH will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
THIS SCRIPTURES SAYS THAT YOU MUST OVERCOME.
THE THIEF DIED FOR HIS CRIME.NOT BECAUSE HE OVERCAME.GOD IS DEMONSTRATING HIS LOVE AND MERCY ON THE THIEF.
HE WAS PROMISED PARADISE; NOT HEAVEN.wakeup.

Jesus did not say “I say unto you today, ..” he said “…, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.” according to the translators of the AV of the KJV. The comma is the division just like it is when a person states “hello, how are you doing today?”
Of course the JW’s claim the comma should be after the today and you act like so I might have misunderstood your point. They have the NWT that they hold to sometimes as hard as you hold to the AV of the KJV.
The situation is that too many people do not understand Paradise or there would not be a dispute. The thief on the cross was a Jew and understood the Jewish teaching of that Period. He was not Christian of today whose church followed after false teachings and forgot its first love long ago.
November 4, 2014 at 7:51 pm#782433kerwinParticipantTo whomever it may concern,
Young’s Literal Translation does a better job on the word paradise.
Nehemiah 2:8
and a letter unto Asaph, keeper of the paradise that the king hath, that he give to me trees for beams [for] the gates of the palace that the house hath, and for the wall of the city, and for the house into which I enter;’ and the king giveth to me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.Ecclesiastes 2:5
I made for me gardens and paradises, and I planted in them trees of every fruit.Song of Solomon 4:13
Thy shoots a paradise of pomegranates, With precious fruits,Luke 23:43
and Jesus said to him, `Verily I say to thee, To-day with me thou shalt be in the paradise.’2 Corinthians 12:4
that he was caught away to the paradise, and heard unutterable sayings, that it is not possible for man to speak.Revelation 2:7
He who is having an ear — let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies: To him who is overcoming — I will give to him to eat of the tree of life that is in the midst of the paradise of God. - AuthorPosts
