Stryper existed in a time when much of Christianity attacked them and said they were of the Devil. Heavy Metal is the Devil’s music was the cry of many Christians in the 1980s.
Did you listen to Stryper when you were younger? What is your opinion of them today and their style of music? Do you think they were genuinely working for God? The video below gives you a run down of their music and the obstacles they faced in their career. But as their audience grew up and had families and are now close to being old, many respect them for the way they reached out to the lost and the fact that they took their faith into some dark places of the world. Unlike other Christian bands of the day that preached to Christians, these guys reached out to people in the world of Heavy Metal, a genre that smacked of Satan and sin.
