It is Easter Sunday and the chapel was full of people saying this:
- We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
- We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light,
- Through him all things were made.
- For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.
- For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried.
- On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures;
- he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
- He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
- We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
- who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
- With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
- He has spoken through the Prophets.
- We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
- We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
- We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen
Anybody here a part of the “we” in the above. I am.
Happy Resurrection Day…Jesus lives and reigns! Hallelujah!
April 19, 2022 at 8:01 am#931246LightenupParticipantAm I the only one here that believes all those statements in the OP? If you don’t believe all of them, which ones do you believe? They are numbered so that you can just list the number of the statement/statements that you do believe in. Also, which numbered statement/statements do you not believe in?

….’earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light,…..Me
eternally begotten of the Father…
How You understand That LU ?
Do the bible Say that ?
For me I believe in the ONLY begotten Son of God…
Begotten,
Not eternally begotten
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God bless
April 19, 2022 at 9:18 am#931249LightenupParticipantHi Berean,
Eternally begotten means “begotten before the ages” as opposed to begotten in time. Before the ages would be during eternity before the first day was established. That is how I understand it.
Before the first day was established here:
Gen 1
5God called the light “day,” and the darkness He called “night.”
And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
He was begotten before that happened.
April 19, 2022 at 9:24 am#931250LightenupParticipantBerean,
You asked if the Bible says “eternally begotten.” The Bible calls Jesus the Firstborn of all creation and then goes on to say that all things in heaven and on earth were made by him (Jesus). Therefore, he was born before anything in heaven and on earth was made, everything visible and invisible.
Col 1:15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him.
17He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
Does that help Berean?
God bless, LU

Thanks for your answer.
I agree on that.
My way of saying the same thing is: “begotten in eternity past”….
I agree with your second post, of course.
God bless

April 21, 2022 at 5:56 am#931283LightenupParticipantThanks for your reply Proclaimer and Berean.
Berean, I get the impression that you agree with everything in the OP and could stand with me and confess all of that in the midst of that congregation that I was in on Easter Sunday.
Proclaimer, I get the impression that your agreement ends with statement #1.
Proclaimer, do you go so far as to denying part or all of this statement #2, if so, what specifically do you agree with or deny:
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light,

You said in another thread ( I brought it over to this thread because it fit a little better):
Hi Sis Kathi, Thanks for your concern for me. I am neither Atheist nor Agnostic but have become a skeptic and rationalist. I still attend Church and maintain my spiritual life with my family.
I take it that you deny all the statements in the OP, right?
What would your current statement of belief be regarding the creation of heaven and earth? In other words, you don’t believe in the first statement in the OP that there is one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
How did the heaven and earth begin according to your new rationalistic belief?

April 24, 2022 at 2:47 am#931323GeneBalthropParticipantLU……do you “really”, believe Jesus and what he said.? Then believe this “call no man your Father on earth , for “ONE” , IS YOUR “Father ” who is in heaven”. So I disagree with you saying Jesus is the “only son of God” . The real question here is do you “truly” believe Jesus” , or the false teachings of the Catholic Church . The only true statements you posted, are 1,5, 6,7,14, 15, all the rest are “destortions ” of what God the Father and Jesus and other scriptures clearly say.
Jesus is the firstborn human, from mankind, to be resrected from the dead , (born again) by God the Father into the kingdom of God and given eternal life. He is the fulfillment of what God had and has in mind, for “ALL” of his human creation. Jesus never existed before his birth on this earth. He was in the plan of God and will of God, from the foundations of this earth, and The exact reason God made “ALL” of mankind to be in the first place, exactly like him. He is the prototype of all humanity a perfected work of God as we shall also be. We who truly “believe” him, are his brothers and sisters, begotten of God also , y the exact same Spirit of God that was and is in Jesus our brother.
All but six is a complete “misrepresentation” of what our scriptures actually teach, IMO.
Peace and love to you and yours LU…………gene

Hi Sis Kathi, thanks for your concern for me here. You see the statements of beliefs regarding heaven and earth were all man made OPs and even the whole Biblical writings were all man made as per me.
I am in search of the truth on these religious concepts including the stories of creation mentioned in the Bible which were written by different authors and from different sources as per the historians. So I understand our physical universe based on the present scientific inventions and discoveries than the most ancient primitive religious texts.

Thanks for your reply. Do you believe that if you die today that there will be an afterlife for you or do you just stop existing? I’m curious.

May 15, 2022 at 4:28 am#931614mikeboll64BlockedKathi, since you’re back posting again… just a reminder that there are two threads (one private and one public) dedicated to your “Yahweh Unity” doctrine. Of course, those dedicated threads won’t allow you to just keep making the same vague and baseless assertions and running from scrutiny across many threads like you’ve done for years here, so I think I understand why you prefer the old way. 😉
May 15, 2022 at 4:40 am#931616LightenupParticipantMike, I went ahead and made a dedicated thread for that just now since I said that I would discuss it after college was over. You can post there.

Hi Sis Kathi, sorry I missed this query of yours. In fact I am studying much on Afterlife these days but nothing is real as per the historians. The Hebrew Bible is not much clear on ‘Afterlife’ especially the Torah where “no such thing as Afterlife” This was developed after the Babylonian Exile of Jewish people. We can find the early traces of ‘Afterlife’ in Isaiah 26-29 and Dan 12.
I personally was believing all such concepts as a Christian but I have lost faith in those myths these days and have become a Skeptic.
Thank you and peace to you…..Adam
