ps 1Jn 2
” 22Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.23Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
24Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
So do not deny the Christ of God.
The Christ of God is not the God of whom he is the Christ.
He is the Son of that God.March 15, 2007 at 9:33 pm#45062Worshipping JesusParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Mar. 15 2007,22:11) Hi W,
God is not in all men.
God is in those who have submitted to His will and believed in the Son and acted on that belief.
They obey and abide in the teachings of God's Word.
They have the Father and the Son
As the Spirit.1Jn 4
” 12No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.13Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
14And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
15Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
16And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.'
1Jn 3
” 24And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

The same goes for Moses, Malachai, etc.etc.

Hi Tim,
Jesus spoke to Romans and greeks and other gentiles once he knew that his mission was to them as well. Context is always important. Certainly his words must be looked at in the context in which they were given. If Jews asked about the Law they received answers according to those questions. But men preferred darkness.

People who like to believe that God is always mad, seem to find his wrath everywhere.

Hi Nick,The quote that I responded to earlier was when you said that forgiveness was given to those that repented.
Of course in John 3, John would say, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
Some translations say Indignation of God instead of wrath but that is not the point.
What does John tell us that eternal or everlasting life is?Jhn 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
So knowing the true God and the son He sent is eternal life, It is obvious then, that if you don't know them you don't have eternal life.So how does that refute anything that I have said?

All major doctrine can be found in the Old either by direct referrence or by type or shadow.
Besides ask you self, If God was gonna punish men in an eternal inferno of the most horrible pain and suffering imaginable for ever and ever, dont you think he would have let Adam and Eve know of this before they disobeyed or Moses or any of the Prophets?
Dont you think our Loving God would have warned us that this will be the punishment for sin?
So its not enough that God drowned the previous world for their sin but now he will ressurect them to Eternal punishment.
That is not the God that I serve.
The wages of sin is death, not eternal punisment in a blazing inferno!

March 15, 2007 at 10:48 pm#45077NickHassanParticipantHi Tim,
Knowing is not ” knowing of.”
It would give men an excuse perhaps if they had not heard of Jesus.
Rom 1
“18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

NHFrom your view God must be disfigured for if his “Body” (which of course he is Spirit), is bigger than the universe and his finger lives in me(of course there is no scripture that says such nonsense).
Where is the scripture that says the finger of God lives in me?
Are you making inferrence and denying a boat load of scripture that says God is in us?
Man made doctrines, believe the scriptures my friend.
March 15, 2007 at 10:59 pm#45080NickHassanParticipantHi W,
Maybe so but you should know the finger of God.
Lk 11
“18If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.19And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.
20But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.
compare
Matt 12
26And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?27And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
28But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
Jesus was anointed of that Spirit and so should you be.
Matt 12
” 15But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;16And charged them that they should not make him known:
17That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
18Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

NHThats the point, he came to seek and save that which is lost!
He left the 99 to save the one. Now my calculation says thats 100%.
Jesus died for the “Sin” of the world. He was the Lamb of God that was slain before the foundation of the world!
Jesus paid the price with his own blood and he will not fail to save all those the Father has given him. Who is the all the Father has given him, well “All Things were made by him and for him”, therefore he will redeem all back to himself!
Nothing is impossible for him, so we should not limit him and his ability to save men whether in this life or the next.
Those who reject Christ this side of the grave will surely pay a price by fire but even so there Spirit will be saved.
Because “Every knee and every tongue will one day confess”.

NHInteresting that the only time “the finger of God is mentioned is dealing with the lowly piece of nothing the devil”.
Gods Spirit is also his arm and his hands and his feet and his legs and his eyes and his ears!
But you seem to be content with his finger which is mentioned one time while the other refference the writer calls him the Spirit!
So you build your doctrine on this and like David say… he has his finger in our heart like a doctor!
Get real.
