Hi,
The unteachable spirit has no future in Christ.March 20, 2007 at 4:21 am#45609NickHassanParticipantHi,
To believe in the trinity doctrine requires certain choices.
It is not teaching that is found taught in the bible so one must decide to trust sources that are outside of bible revelation.
The bible teaches that the Spirit does not speak on His own initiative but takes us back to the bible so one must believe that this is not true and the Spirit in fact speaks new things after the death of the apostles.
Such is the work of the false leaven, the old one we were warned about, the spirit of tradition.April 5, 2007 at 5:58 am#47578NickHassanParticipanttopical
April 5, 2007 at 7:24 pm#47641NickHassanParticipantHi,
Mk 7
“1Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.2And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
3For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
4And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
5Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
6He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
The yeast of the Pharisees we were warned about.
It leads to false worship of tradition.
Those that did so were antichrist.April 11, 2007 at 11:00 pm#48629NickHassanParticipantHi,
Jesus brought hope for eternal life and the power to overcome the destructive works in our lives of the god of this world.
He warned us against those who tickle ears and offer no such power.2 Timothy 3:5
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn awaySuch is the nature of the churches of tradition.
April 17, 2007 at 6:34 am#49333chosenoneParticipantThere are more than four hundred different denominations in the so-called Christian church. All have some truth, and all have some error. There are many different bible “translations”, many have contradictions, many say various scriptures differently and have different meaning. Some denominations have thier own bible translations, and have changed words and/or sentence structure to suit thier beliefs.
How are we to know what to believe, how can we be assured of of our salvation? Does anyone know the truth?Blessings.
April 17, 2007 at 6:42 am#49334NickHassanParticipantHi CO,
The answers are available through obedience to the righteous demand of God that we be reborn, and feeding on the only food that lasts, the Word of God. The Spirit as downpayment gives evidence of the inheritance we will receive. That is our aim. But any thought that the divided so called church is the body of Christ is an illusion.April 17, 2007 at 6:52 am#49337chosenoneParticipantHi Nick.
How are we to be reborn, what methods do we use to do this. Where does scripture say we are to be reborn?Blessings.
April 17, 2007 at 7:25 am#49343NickHassanParticipantHi CO,
Try Jn3 for starters.April 17, 2007 at 8:46 pm#49404chosenoneParticipantHi Nick.
Again, for the umpteenth time, the teachings of Jesus was to the Jews. The Jews will be “born again” when God makes the New Covenant with them, explained in Heb.8:8-12, foretold in Jer.31:31. Our salvation comes when we are a “new creation”, (2cor.5:17).
To properly understand scripture we must “correctly cut the word of truth” (2Tim.2:15). This means to realise “what is said, and to whom it was said”. We cannot take all scripture and apply it to us. All scripture is FOR us, but not all is ABOUT us.Blessings.
April 18, 2007 at 10:11 pm#49510NickHassanParticipantHi CO,
But who are the US?
All men are not saved.April 18, 2007 at 11:19 pm#49526chosenoneParticipantHi Nick.
1Tim.4:9b …that we rely on the living God, Who is the Saviour of all Mankind, especially of believers.
I guess scripture is fibbing.Blessings.
April 18, 2007 at 11:26 pm#49527NickHassanParticipantHi CO,
Indeed there is no other name by which any can be saved.
Acts 4
10Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.11This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
But we MUST BE SAVED
No free lunchApril 18, 2007 at 11:32 pm#49529chosenoneParticipantHi Nick.
“For His Achievement are we”… Eph.2:10. We have no part in our salvation..(lest we may boast). Nothing we can do for our salvation. “All is of God”.Blessings.
April 18, 2007 at 11:38 pm#49530NickHassanParticipantHi CO,
All is grace.
Is it not joy that the Father reaches out to all offering them salvation in the Son.
How sad it is men find reasons to make that response unnecessary or just unwantedApril 19, 2007 at 5:11 am#49581chosenoneParticipantHi Nick.
Still trying to earn your salvation? Christs' sacrefice not quite enough? “All is of God”. What part of “ALL” don't you understand?Blessings.
April 25, 2007 at 11:11 pm#50575NickHassanParticipantHi,
Tradition.
The most popular substitute for truth.April 26, 2007 at 3:22 am#50594Tim2ParticipantSo you're going to start another anti-tradition tradition? How long will that last before becoming a tradition?
April 26, 2007 at 3:27 am#50596NickHassanParticipantHi Tim2,
I am glad you are realising that tradition is a trap, quicksand, a useless alternative to being led by the Spirit of God, Who wrote the scriptures through men.
Retrace your steps as becoming fossilised in folly is not helpful.
Walk while the light is with you.April 26, 2007 at 3:50 am#50604Tim2ParticipantSo the Spirit of God changes with every generation? What He did in previous generations is of no value to us?
