This sounds like a small thing but how many of you out there are just bewildered by the assortment of toothbrushes and toothpastes out there?
I still remember my first toothbrush which was an orange squarehead. I lived in Africa and was poor so did not have access to much variety …and didn't feel I was missing out on anything.
Then I got exposed to the angle fullheads when I came to America and those were fairly conservative and all right… I stuck with my favorite brand. These things are very personal after all.
Anyhow, about 2 years ago my family and I, daring to be bold, tried another product from the same company. My husband being the male that he is, bravely stuck with his new cross action style but I returned to my previous style as I found the new one too abrasive.
Just this past month, he decided to try yet another style from the same manufacturer, and I decided to be a sport and go along with him.Well folks, this one feels like an off road vehicle (quads); a hummer of a tooth brush! Whatever happened to just an old fashioned toothbrush!
And the size of those handles don't fit in standard toothbush holders. Little children's hands can barely fit around some of them. Have they designed new holders that I am yet to find? My husband suggests umbrella holders! And the assortment of toothpaste?! I found the plain simple ones that they started out with still works best for me.
Well, I wish you all a pleasant smile.

Ha ha ha!!Thanks for the warning! I've been pretty conservative in my choice of toothpastes! Honestly though, have you seen some of those toothbrushes out there? the bristles on the one I'm talking about looks like nails. Fierce.
It's all in the name of never ending technology I guess.
Say, have you compared the plates of today with those of yesteryears, depending on how old you are! Today's plates are nothing short of platters! Have you also seen some of the new water/beverage jugs/bottles out there? Why don't they just sell colorful gallons and be done with it?
.
August 11, 2006 at 11:01 pm#24166ProclaimerParticipantI'm using an electric one and would never go back to the old style.
My teeth come up sqeaky clean with very little work. He he sounds like an ad.When I lived in Colombia, I noticed that they are so teeth conscious there. After lunch you see people cleaning their teeth, they seem to have toothbrushes in multiple locations.
For the price of 3 fillings in NZ, I had about 8 fillings and had my gums operated on too. The service is so cheap and good that the dentist told me that a lot of his clients are Americans (from Florida) who fly down there to get their teeth done and fly back which works our a lot cheaper than getting it done in the States.
August 12, 2006 at 1:29 am#24187kenrchParticipantt8,
May be I should forget about NZ and move to Colombia!
The dentist are great and so is the soup, I think
Are you from Colombia and moved to NZ?
August 12, 2006 at 9:47 am#24228ProclaimerParticipantMy wife is Colombian. I met her in NZ.
We have very few Spanish speakers in NZ. She came here to learn English and didn't want to go to a country where she can speak Spanish.
The cool thing is that both cultures are completely and utterly different and I like variety. Colombia to me means adventure. It is extremely beautiful, but also very dangerous. New Zealand on the otherhand is also beautiful, but it is a place to relax. As they say here, “no worries”.
Sometimes I need adventure and other times I need to be in a safe place. A season for everything and all that.

Hey t8,Would you recommend those electric ones for children who still have their first set of baby teeth? I am concerned that the rapid rotation might hurt gums? Any chances of it also harming the natural enamel on teeth and so wearing them out as some of these products that are sold to make teeth whiter?
BTW, I went shopping yesterday to a hardware store looking for curtain rods and voila! found my nephilim tooth brush holders… they are portable and not affixed to the wall. So they are out there just didn't know it.
Wow, didn't know that about the Columbians!
August 19, 2006 at 12:07 pm#24957kenrchParticipantOk I'm going to need a toothbrush the next time I go to the grocery.
T8, when you say electric do you mean battery powered? I had a sonic but for some reason (I don't remember why) I didn't like it. I think I would prefer a brush that rotates rather than moves up and down at worp speedAugust 19, 2006 at 12:32 pm#24962ProclaimerParticipantQuote (Cubes @ Aug. 13 2006,22:11) Quote (t8 @ Aug. 12 2006,05:01) I'm using an electric one and would never go back to the old style.

Dunno about recommending them for kids but hey if it goes haywire they get a new set of teeth anyway.

Yep battery powered. Aren't batteries just 'stored electricity' capsules?I like the rotating ones too. They clean my teeth better than spending 5 times longer with the old type.
Although the one I have has a round rotating brush and another sort of narrow brush in the front, that is good for reaching the back teeth and over the side.
What will they think of next? A bluetooth wirelessly connected Internet toothbrush that takes photos of your teeth and emails them to a central database for analysis?
August 19, 2006 at 4:49 pm#24966davidParticipantThrough Amos, God warned his people:
AMOS 4:6
““‘And I also, for my part, gave YOU people cleanness of teeth in all YOUR cities and want of bread in all YOUR places; but YOU did not come back to me,’ is the utterance of Jehovah.”That cleanness was not from brushing or fancy high tech toothbrushes. It was from having nothing to eat, suffering famine.
Moreover, it was a warning of “a famine, not for bread, and a thirst, not for water, but for hearing the words of Jehovah.” (8:11)
Spiritually, what Amos described finds a fulfillment in the sad condition of Christendom.
Anyway, back to toothbrushes:

Well t8 here in the USA there is electricity from the wall and there is DC powered energy cells called batteries. When someone says electric I think 110 volts from the outlet on the wall Or the product is battery powered. I don't know slang of NZ BTW capsules are what my medication comes in LOL!August 22, 2006 at 9:15 am#25253ProclaimerParticipantHe he yourself. First off, can you show me a scripture to backup what you are saying.
Anyway, electricity is the physical phenomena arising from the behavior of electrons and protons that is caused by the attraction of particles with opposite charges and the repulsion of particles with the same charge.
A battery also releases electricity:
1. Two or more connected cells that produce a direct current by converting chemical energy to electrical energy.
2. A single cell, such as a dry cell, that produces an electric current.Regarding the word capsule have you not heard of a “space capsule”. Or is that a medicine that you take if you lack space in your body?
Oh I think I know why there is a difference. It is because we speak English and you speak American. Am I right?
Correct me if I am wrong, but the English word for “colour” (for example), is “color” in American isn't it? Yes and it is pronounced differently too. We say “Kala” and you guys say “Kolur”.
He he, I being very cheeky today.
August 22, 2006 at 9:20 am#25255ProclaimerParticipantOh one more thing.
Where is the USA? I think it is near Canada isn't it?

t8, I have never heard of a energy capsule. Engenery cells yes but not a energy capsual.capsual:
A container enclosing a dose of an oral medicine. No space ship here!
As far as the USA I think you know where it is. If it were not for the USA you guys in NZ would still be worshipping false gods (snakes, chickens, sticks, stones, cow-a- bunga or whatever).
As far as batteries I didn't know NZ was that far advanced. But batteries in your country must be fairly new, you calling them capsuals and all!

You should be careful what you say about New Zealand.
Do you not know that New Zealand will rule the world one day.I will let you know how the plan goes, but you may not understand it all given you are not a Kiwi, but I think you will understand most of it.
(I blogged this a few years ago)
Stage 1 New Zealand splits the atom. (Mission Accomplished)
Stage 2 Splitting the atom results in countries developing nuclear weapons. (Mission Accomplished)
Stage 3 New Zealand becomes totally nuclear free. (Mission Accomplished)
Stage 4 We exit all military relations with the USA and Australia. (Mission Accomplished)
Stage 5 We do not bother to upgrade our own military hardware, because this plan is so good that we will not even need weapons to gain control of the world. (Mission Accomplished)
Stage 6 The world eventually engages in nuclear war, an inevitable scenario given mens dreams of conquest and short tempers.
Stage 7 The world becomes a nuclear waste and New Zealand is the only country that survives given it’s isolation and non-threatening stance.
Stage 8 New Zealand cleanses the world of radiation using technologies that have been secretly developed by our military. This explains why New Zealand hasn't upgraded our military arms and why we have scrapped both boats and planes in our defence force, yet still having that feeling of tax payers money sort of disappearing into nothing.
Stage 9 The world is now repopulated by New Zealanders and each area in the world becomes a state of the newly stated Kingdom of New Zealand.
Stage 10 Like all Kingdoms, there must be a King or a Queen. I cannot divulge the name of this future world leader at this moment, but I will give you a clue. She likes to wear red and her last name sounds like Lark.

Wow! t8 that would make a good SiFi movie or James Bond 007 movie. New Zealand takes over the world ha haI might ask where is God in all this? Or is God a Kiwi
Just got back from Flagstaff Arizona (that's in the USA that is near Canada ) it's beautiful country there are plenty of mountains and crystal clear streams, the Grand Canyon about an hour away. But the people are just that heathen people! So no matter how beautiful the Country is it's the people that make the difference. Come to think of it this whole earth will be renewed anyway. The old Earth is passed away Rev 21:1.

Anyway, if your scenario is correct, which we know it isn't, that would leave NZ and also Canada. Really, people have to live somewhere when it's all over.Good news–I am finally almost rid of the lemon flavored toothpaste.
September 13, 2006 at 5:18 am#28089ProclaimerParticipantTrue that.
Canada is neutral like Switzerland and I think you are nuclear free too.
