Life and soul are the same:
LIFE: Root word #5594: to breathe, blow, cool by blowing to be made or grow cool or cold metaph. of waning love
SOUL: Root word #5594 to breathe, blow, cool by blowing ,to be made or grow cool or cold, metaph. of waning love
SPIRIT: Root word #4154 to breathe, to blow, of the wind
Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell
Given Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body (that protects the soul/life), but are not able to kill the soul (life/soul).
CONCLUSION: spirit/soul equals Life
And fear not them which destroy the Armour (BODY), but are not able to destroy the life (SPIRIT/SOUL).
Man cannot kill the life (spirit/soul) that God gives. Only God can do that! Right?
The spirit returns to God who gave it!
I BELIEVE THAT SOUL IS THE LIFE GOD GIVES YOU AND SPIRIT IS MY CHARACTER, PERSONALITY, ME.
That's why spirit and soul are so close. They are both LIFE. The soul is the breath of life and the spirit is life belonging to man and is man.
Did Jesus have an advantage by having God's Spirit–spirit. If He did then He was NOT tempted like I am. We inherited Adams spirit did we not? If God gave each individual a spirit then we would not have inherited sin. Or God deliberately gave each and every person a spirit of SIN. Do you see what I'm saying?
In the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with God…..
The WORD was the beginning of creation. God spoke things into existence, using the WORD. So the Word was with God and the WORD was God. The WORD is part of GOD. John 1:1-5
GOD, SPIRIT AND THE WORD
In the beginning there was God. The almighty God. Then God thought. God used is Spirit and thought. After God thought He spoke the WORD. There was God, God's Spirit, and God's WORD, Or GOD GOD GOD!
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.
God's WORD became flesh through Mary. Jesus is the WORD of GOD wrapped in flesh. Jesus developed His own human spirit . Then He was baptized and the Holy Spirit entered Him. Jesus did not have the Holy Spirit from birth. Everything happened after Jesus was baptized. Led into the wilderness by the Spirit. Started His ministry. Began healing etc. Jesus said He does nothing unless the Father does it first. God thought and Jesus spoke.
Since His resurrection Jesus is seated at the right hand of God. Now there is God, God's Spirit, and The Son of God. Being a Son because He has a Human spirit and the Holy Spirit. Before there was God, God, God.THINK OUT THE BOX
November 26, 2005 at 5:13 am#10626MrBobParticipantThe Hebrew word nepesh is used as “creature” in Gen. 1:21:
And God created great whales, and every living creature [nephesh Str. #5315] that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.Later, we see the word nephesh used as breath life:
Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul [nephesh Str. #5315].When Adam and Eve were told not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they were told they would die in that day, not eventually.
Genesis 2:17
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. And, of course, they did eat of it. Since we know God does not lie, a part of them must have died. But what? It couldn't be their soul life, or they would stop breathing, so it must have been their spirits. But if the spirit has personality, as you say, it would vanish. But we see later on they are still themselves with their individuality intact. The difference is we see a lost connection with God. Therefore, spirit must be what connects us with God, and soul life must be personality and breath life.
God Bless

Gen 2.17
“but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die”
It does not say”on the day”
I think it relates to
Gen 3.22f
“'…and now, he might stretch out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever' -therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken. So He drove the man out..”So this curse only came into force on the day of man's decision.

Or perhaps, Jehovah's use of the word “day” here is one where it's an extended period of time. They lived less than a thousand years. A thousand years is to Jehovah as one day, we are told. - AuthorPosts
