Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.Only three verses, but loaded with questions.
Why a white throne, what does that mean?
Who is sitting on the throne?
What are earth, and heaven, that they fled away?
Who are the dead standing before God (throne)?
What books were opened?
By what works were the dead Judged?Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
How can these resurrected ones get their name into the book of life?

The opportunity was while they lived on earth.Luke 10:20
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.Philippians 4:3
Indeed, true companion, I ask you also to help these women who have shared my struggle in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement also and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.Hebrews 9:27

While we live we can have our name written in the book of life.
After death there is the judgement.
No second chance theology.
That is of the speculations of men.April 28, 2009 at 11:19 pm#129449CindyParticipantAlright Nick, I'll reason with you.
Why is this verse, Rev. 20:11, referred to as the “white throne judgment?

From one of the many sites on bible colour symbolism[http://www.christcenteredmall.com/teachings/symbolism/colors.htmWHITE
“Portrays purity, righteousness, joy, light, and a white horse symbolizes victory.”Jesus is on the throne as he told us.
He is King and as the Son of man is appointed to judge men.April 28, 2009 at 11:58 pm#129453CindyParticipantNick

The judgement is of the individual souls of men and a physical earth is not required.
The detail of the judgement is also in Mt 25 and LkApril 29, 2009 at 3:56 am#129482942767ParticipantHi Georg:
Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

Why a white throne, what does that mean? (White for the purity of him who judges)Who is sitting on the throne? (Yahshua is the judge)
What are earth, and heaven, that they fled away? (This is symbolic implying his intnese wrath)Who are the dead standing before God (throne)? (Those who died in their sins prior to the rapture)
What books were opened? (The book which shows what works each person did during his lifetime)
By what works were the dead Judged? (All the works that someone did in their life time both good and bad. Even every idle word spoken)
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
How can these resurrected ones get their name into the book of life (They had their chance during their life on earth when the gospel was being preached. There is no second chance.)

MartyBy Yahshua you mean Jesus?
By earth fled away, and no place for them was found, our societies are meant, our governments, our very ways of life, Jesus is going to change all of that.
Heaven fled away too, but it is not heaven above. Jesus said,Mat 5:34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
That is to say, God's throne is in heaven; a throne symbolises power and authority, heaven therefore symbolises all power and authority; it will not flee away.
There are heavens on earth, God speaks to them.Psa 50:4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.
Heavens on earth are places of religious authority, Churches. All man made religion, and false doctrine, will be done away with, there will be no place for them in God's kingdom.

I do not believe that the verse of scripture that states that heaven and earth flee is literal but is symbolic portraying the wrath of God.

Mat 13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
Mat 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. So, Jesus came not to give understanding to all, that has to mean, God decided ahead of time who would be saved and who would not, is that how you see it?

So all men who die outside of the way of Jesus rise in the second resurrection after the millenial kingdom to face the judgement of Mt 25 \ Rev20 in the hope of finding the mercy of God. - AuthorPosts
