Nick,
Neither was there any shown with John. In fact, I would say that John shown even less fruit but he was filled from the womb. You do not hold John to the same test of evidence of an existing Spirit…why?July 20, 2009 at 12:02 am#138089Not3in1ParticipantQuote (Lightenup @ July 20 2009,11:37) Nick,

I can hear Nick pondering over this one….{{{ponder, ponder}}}

Does scripture say anywhere Jesus was filled with the Spirit till it says in in lk4?
If not why would you assume so?July 20, 2009 at 12:13 am#138092Not3in1ParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ July 20 2009,09:20) Hi not3,
Stitching two truths together does not necessarily make another truth.
So tell us of the fruit of 30 years compared with three?
Hi Nick,Men have constantly wanted Jesus to “prove” who he was/is. You are no different in your desire to link Jesus' fruit with his evidence of holy Spirit. You don't need a sign. Jesus doesn't need to prove anything.
For unto us, a child was given. And that child's father is God.
We should know by now that while Jesus was born under the law, he walked to a different drum; he had food to eat that his disciples knew nothing of. Therefore the same standards should not necessarily be applied to our Lord.
Love,

God is not just His Holy Spirit. He was in heaven where Jesus told us to pray to Him while Jesus was filled with His Spirit.
Being fathered by the Spirit of God still made him an ordinary man and did not fill him with God's Spirit
You say, “Being fathered by the Spirit of God still made him an ordinary man….”.A man, yes.
Ordinary? No.

Back to the superman idea?July 20, 2009 at 12:57 am#138096LightenupParticipantNick,
Does Luke 4 say that He “became” filled with the Holy Spirit or that He “received” the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit descended on Him like a dove…where else does that happen like that? That is not an indicator anywhere of a baptism of the Holy Spirit.LU

Do you think Jesus moved in some natural power that did not need the anointing of the Holy Spirit?[acts 10.38]July 20, 2009 at 1:37 am#138098NickHassanParticipantHi Not3,
It does make you wonder if Jesus was always filled with the Spirit why it is mentioned at all after the Jordan in Lk4.July 20, 2009 at 2:16 am#138099Not3in1ParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ July 20 2009,12:56) Hi not3,

What was Superman, anyway? The cape made him fly, right?
Do you believe that the skin makes Jesus a man only? Inside he is the preexisting one —- right?

Jesus lived, breathed, moved, and has his being because of God's holy spirit.Jesus is an offspring of holy Spirit.
We are mud-men.You like to put Jesus in the same category as yourself – after all he is your brother – right? But remember, we are adopted. Jesus belonged at birth.

It is the book.

Hmmm.I don't know even one man who died via crucifixion? Jesus didn't just die – he willingly 'gave up his spirit'. Ordinary men do not do this.
If the fact that he died makes you believe that he was ordinary, why does not his miraculous birth make you believe he is extraordinary?

So you assume being conceived of the Holy Spirit would also mean he was naturally filled with that Spirit? Why would you make such assumptions?
