Although it doesn't fit with my next example.I think the best way to think of objects that orbit is to imagine that space-time is water.
If you put a large floating ball into water and then some smaller ping pong balls around it, then the ping pong balls will orbit the large ball if it is spinning.But that doesn't explain why we are attracted to skyscrapers, although it could be that the gravity of the Earth itself makes the building pale in comparison.

That is true. Attraction between two massive spheres has actually been measured, first by Cavendish.Ludwik Kowalski (see Wikipedia)
