    Hi 94,
Thank you for the opinion but no prophets were directly involved in that action of God.
    Where is the great city?
How can the world look on their dead bodies?

    The Two Witnesses
This being spoken of earlier in Scripture: Zech 4:14, and fulfilled in Scripture: Mark 9:4, the Prophets are Moses and Elijah, symbolizing the Law and the Prophets, which symbolizes the saints of God Dan 7:21 + Rev 11:7 + Rev 13:1+7.

    Praise God.

    Hi Hanoch,
There are major difficulties saying the witnesses are men.
There are many witnesses in scripture,
Look at Is 1 for example

2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

Remember that this is the time of the great tribulation [3 and a half days] when massive upheavals occur on earth and in the heavens.

    I don't understand that “witness”.

Remember that these “two witnesses” are symolically the two witnessesto the love commandment:
“…on this hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
“…let every fact be established in the mouths of two or three witnesses.”

And, yes, they are literally people, because they have the power to strike the earth with curses whenever they desire.
And these “two witnesses” were typed and shadowed by Abel, and by the prophets of old, who were killed by those whose sacrifice (life) was unacceptable to God. It happened again to Jesus, and we are His body: how much more will they malign us? Biblical type and shadowing proves that Mystery Babylong, the Great Whore who commits fornication with all the kings of the earth, is actually the people of God who do not obey God, just as it occured in old testament, her cup being filled with the blood of the apostles and saints of God.
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who stones the prophets… now your house is being left to you desolate.” this is speaking of the abomination of desolation.
Other parallels pointing to the fact that Mystery Babylon is the disapproved believers: compare Ezekiel 16:1-40 and any other O.T. Scripture talking about Israel as a prostitute with Rev 17:v1;v15-17. It is obvious.
The point is: the “two witnesses” are killed by religious people who think they are doing God a service. “If they do these things in the green tree, what will they do in the dry tree?” Who killed Jesus? Religious people (just as it happened with Cain and Abel and with the prophets of old) who didn't want to concede to the Spirit of Life. This will happen again.

I really don't know what other biblical proof can be given as a testimony to this.

    Hi Hanoch,
    Rev11
3And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

4These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

5And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

6These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

7And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

8And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

9And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

10And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

11And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.

12And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

We have yet to see fire coming from the mouth of any man.

    Hi Nick:

I was trying to show that the “fire” that comes out of the witnesses mouth are judgments from God. It is not literal fire.

The world will look upon their dead bodies possibly on CNN.

Can we pick an choose which is and which is not??

    Hi Nick:

The bible states that they are prophets and prophets are men. The scripture also shows them being killed and so, they died, again, showing that they are mortal men. The fire coming out of their mouth are judgments from God rendered to them who oppose them.

Here, Please read the scriptures, and see if this is not what is stated:

    Quote
Rev 11:5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

    Hi:

I agree that the two candlesticks are the church from the nation of Israel and from the gentile nations, but the two olive trees are:

    Quote
Zechariah 4:12And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?

13And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

14Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the LORD of the whole earth.

books do not have bodys, and are not called to heaven, i think.

Rev 11:5 If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die.
Rev 11:6 These men have power to shut up the sky so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.
Rev 11:7 Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them.
Rev 11:8 Their bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.
Rev 11:9 For three and a half days men from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial

Terraricca, think about it, would God turn a human being into a fire breathing dragon? you have to admit that this is not to be taken literal.
Verse 6, who was it that shut up heaven that it rain not for three and a half years? and who was it that turned water into blood; during the time of “their” prophecy?
Verse 7, who was the “beast” that came out of the bottomless pit, out of no where? THE LEAGUE OF NATION, in 1918.
Verse 8, what is the great city which is “figuratively” called Sodom and Egypt?
    What does Sodom symbolize? perversion.
    What does Egypt symbolize? sin.
In other words, this great city is Satan's world, that is where Jesus was crucified, outside Jerusalem, Satan's great city.
And are not these two witnesses treated as dead? look at the world, what condition it is in, did these two witnesses do any good?
Has the world gotten any better since these two witnesses began to witness?
Look what these two witnesses had accomplished in our founding fathers, and have we not slowly killed them of over the last half Century? But nobody wants to get rid of them all together, bury them, why? because some people do think there is something to these two witnesses, and they are right.
There is a time, fast approaching, when God will call these two witnesses home, meaning, no more witnessing.

Amo 8:11 ¶ Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

Amo 8:12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.
