Hi Nick:I reviewed this and while our born again experience is indeed a resurrection from the dead, I don't believe that this is the first resurrection described in Revelation 20:5, but it is what is commonly called the rapture. I have given my understanding under the thread of judgment.
Thanks for bringing up the thread. God Bless
May 8, 2007 at 3:06 am#51660NickHassanParticipantHi 94,
I understand the rapture to be the taking up of the living in Christ to meet Christ in the air which immediately follows the first resurrection. We are given a downpayment on the experience of eternal life with the gifts of the Spirit but we fully experience it only when we are raised up in new heavenly bodies.May 16, 2007 at 10:40 pm#52358NickHassanParticipantHi,
Two resurrections
Both
Acts 24
” 15And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust. “FIRST
Jn 11
24Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Jn 5
” 25Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.26For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;”
Phil 3
” 10That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;11If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.”
1Cor 15
” 12Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?13But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
14And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.”
Heb 11.25
“..: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:”Second
Jn 5
” 28Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,29And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”
?Second
Lk 14
12Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.13But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
14And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
May 18, 2007 at 3:02 am#52471NickHassanParticipantHi 94,
Note that only those who HEAR are raised in the first resurrection because they know the voice of the Shepherd and are yet alive in the Spirit.
ALL are raised 1000 years later.Rev 20
“12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Adam will be there and I HOPE MY DISTANT COUSIN FINDS MERCY.

Hi Nick:My hope is God's desire that no man should perish but that all may come to repentance.
I will continue to study this subject, and of course, if I am wrong in my undersanding then I want to be corrected. Anyway, I cannot do any thing for those who are already physically dead, but I can preach the good news to all who are willing to listen.
God Bless
May 18, 2007 at 4:40 am#52481NickHassanParticipantHi 94,
When scripture says all who are in the grves will rise then I think we should believe it. Adam died and was buried and we owe our lives in one way to hi,m. I cannot grasp the concept that he was only a test run, a prototype who crashed and burned and never got another chance because I believe god gives everyman another chance.Look again at Mt25 after the second resurrection, and the judgement of men.
31When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.'
Only one matter is taken into consideration-the mercy they showed to the sons of God. They could have broken any one or all of the commandments and ignored the salvation outreach of God's servants. None of the saved here thought they deserved anything and all were surprised to see they were found as sheep.

All men will be raised.
Some from sleep and some will never die, while the rest will face the second death unless they find mercy.

Nick you touched on a subject that I have ofter wondered about. Will all have a chance to repent? My Husband thinks that all will have a chance to hear the whole truth, nothing but the truth. If they then can't obey that's it. Satan at the end of the millenium will also be loosed and all will be tested. And Millions will go into the lake of fire with Satan and Antichrist. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. Then there will be nothing but Peace and Christ will give the Kingdom back to the Father so God can be all in all.
Amen.Peace and Love Mrs.
February 1, 2008 at 12:39 am#80544NickHassanParticipantHi Mrs,
For natural men:
Now they live and face choices, then die.
Tomorrow all are raised and face the judgement. That is what we can know.
We should not build speculations into truth.
God knows the hearts of men and His is the final call.February 6, 2008 at 7:43 pm#80862NickHassanParticipantHi,
Some teach that there is only one resurrection at the start of the Millenium and that those not in Christ are educated during the 1000 year reign to give them a second opportunity to choose life.
Scripture seems to say otherwise.February 12, 2008 at 10:19 pm#81274Mr. SteveParticipantThe problem with the second chance doctrine is that its after the millineum and all that are a part of it are destined to destruction according to Revelation.
February 13, 2008 at 12:14 am#81279NickHassanParticipantHi Steve,
It seems to come from men and not scripture.March 28, 2008 at 6:44 pm#85131NickHassanParticipantHi,
Those of faith are not surprised at the miracles of God even unto the raising of the dead.Acts 26:8

Mr. Steve ………Jesus showed the second change doctrine , ” for it shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the judgement then for that generation he was dealing with, He also talked about the people of Nenava rising up and condemning those of that generation. And He also said that they (Pharisees) would be the Last to go into the kingdom of God.Scripture says God is (NOT) willing any parish, so there is a good chance non will. Most people have never has a first chance much less a second chance. I believe ultimately all will be saved
Peace to you and yours………Good to see you back………gene
July 17, 2008 at 3:04 am#97929NickHassanParticipantHi GB,
No second chance.
Certainly there will be powerful witnesses against men at the judgement.Did he say that about the Pharisees?
Matthew 5:20
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.Matthew 23:13
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. - AuthorPosts
