ParticipantQuote (Ed J @ Feb. 17 2010,12:34) Are you going to ignore Matt.26:28 and other bible verses like BD continually does and also worship a false god?
Are you going to trade “Bible Truth”=117 for a 'book of fraud'=114 as well?Heb.10:18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more [animal offerings] for sin (due to the CRUCIFIXION of “Jesus Christ”=151!)
Because NOW we have a NEW “Testament”=117, due DIRECTLY to the DEATH of the “Testator”=151! (Hebrews 9:15-18)
This is the Gospel=74 of Jesus=74; Luke 13:5…except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Remission: pardon, deliverance, forgiveness, liberty, freedom
.
Ed, no im not going to trade 'Bible Truth' for the 'book of fraud' I told you that im not going to read the Quran.
But cant you see that the flesh Jesus spoke about in Matthew 26:28 was explained by Jesus as meaning the spoken words he said, the spirit.-They also had to share in the cup of suffering as he did.
Matthew 26
27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;Matthew 26:39 And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.”
But you wouldnt understand cause you have all the other New Testement books explaining it all for you, just as bod has the Quran explaining it all for him. Just like I used to have Churches and books to explain it all to me. But I never could understand why one innocent person had to die for eveyone elses sins. It doesnt make any sense.

God protects the truth so to me Jesus being recorded to say WHY has thou forsaken me was simply God's way of protecting the truth by those seeking to find the truth. Im not saying Jesus was a sacrifice at all, this is where I disagree, but im saying Jesus was murdered as an innocent , he died, then was raised from the dead, thats alot different.
Its written all through the gospels- matt, mark, luke and john, that Jesus died but was risen from the dead.
John 20:17-29 (King James Version)17Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
18Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the LORD, and that he had spoken these things unto her.
19Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
20And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the LORD.
21Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
23Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
24But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the LORD. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
26And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.
29Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Notice something very important in these verses it says that Jesus showed them his hands and side and they were glad, it does not say that the hands were damaged or the side was damaged and if Jesus had a hole in his side would he have let thomas thrust his hand into his side.
It was thomas who mentioned the print of the nails it does not say thomas saw the print of the nails it just says he saw the hands and the side.
Ask yourself why was Jesus still avoiding being seen by the romans or Jewish leaders? If he was alive it would make sense but if he had died and returned from the dead he would have been proved to them all that was said about him.

Why do you think Jesus said seek and you shall find? If it was all laid out for you what would you need to seek, what would you need to find? as far as The Holy Spirit is concerned THE HOLY SPIRIT gave me this verse to give you:The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
John 3:7-9God can give to whom HE pleases whatever HE pleases.
God has already blessed me all my life, All praise is due to GOD.
You believe that Christ is the Most High God and I will tell you for a certainty that THE HOLY SPIRIT did not reveal that to you, someone taught that to you. You are not listening to JESUS if you were you would say that The Father is greater than he is and that the Father is THE ONLY TRUE GOD.
I'm not saying you don't have THE HOLY SPIRIT I'm just saying that THE HOLY SPIRIT didn't tell you that and I'm sure of it.

In fact, St. Augustine wrote, “There is so great an equality in that Trinity, that not only the Father is not greater than the Son, as regards divinity, but neither are the Father and Son together greater than the Holy Spirit.”
could you tell me in which of his writings he say that ,because i read all of his works and i do not remember that phrase;
the understanding that Augustine came to IS THAT THERE WAS A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE FATHER AND THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT , THATS ALL.
I DO NOT RECALL THAT HE SUPORTED A TRINITY.IN THE CASE OF “ORIGEN”SAME THING

ParticipantHey Mike,
My thoughts- I believe in the trinity. I do not think that if you are raised in a faith that has taaught you from the very beginning otherwise that God will not punish you for being for or against the concept. I was raised in a church that taught that god is three but equal as one, so I am one who has a influenced position. I will say though, Genesis 18 also points me there too. v1-“The lord appeared to Abraham by the entrance of terebinth of Mamre, as he sat in the entrance of his tent, while the day was growing hot. Looking up, he saw THREE men standing nearby” I believe this is the first appearance in the bible of the trinity. The second was when Jesus came up out of the water at his baptism. You had Jesus, The spirit decending, and God speaking from heaven. I know that it is impossible for me in my human mind to comprehend three beings but one God. Lets look at other things that are impossible to get. Lets say if you could measure backward in time , how far could it go? If you counted a million years as one unit, how long is one quadrillion trillion to the zillionth power units? Take that answer and multiply that by an almost uncomprendable number. How long is forever? If you could explain that then you might be able to just explain why my little sister is retarded, or why a nice lady the other day was raped and dumped like trash etc. etc. My point is this, I don't understand, but I trust God. I believe one day we will fully understand. Good question.

ParticipantOne more thing–Isaiah 59 1 through 15 discusses how sinful and lost men are, and how all are sin-filled . but then Is 59 v15-The Lord saw this, and was aggrieved that right did not exist, He saw that there was no one, and was appalled that there was none to intervene; So HIS OWN ARM BROUGHT ABOUT THE VICTORY, and his justice lent him its support. My opinion is God became man. By the way I capitalize for emphisis because I do not know how to slant, its not sarcasm. Godbless

ParticipantMike wasn't the next chapter a continuation of two of the three Angels, if I remember correctly? The Bible states that YHWH is spirit, that he is no man nor a son of man, and that he is the invisible God.
Genesis 18:22 – The men turned away and went toward Sodom
Genesis 19:1 – The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening
What is your opinion about the Angel (messenger) of YHWH? Some say he is Yeshua, before his human existence and that he was representative for YHWH, that he spoke for Him.

ParticipantMike,
Since when did the Holy Spirit appear as a MAN?
We understand that the trinity is such a 'way off the mark' doctrine that NOONE actually believes it. What they do believe, though, is that because it was taught to them and it is written as a Creed and so many OTHER (FOOLS: Read Misled!) believe it then they must beleive also otherwise they cannot attend with their friends at church nor any other place where the doctrine is taught (Schools, for instance) Nor gain qualifications in religious Studies.
This is the Test: To Test All things, Test the Spirit.
I am glad you have come to this site because you will certainly get to Test Your Spirit here!!
It seems that the very reason that you are here is because you are already doubting what you have been taught – Right?

ParticipantQuote (mikeboll64 @ Feb. 17 2010,13:50) Hey all, Once again I will try to practice the KISS theory (Keep It Simple Stupid)
The Trinity Doctrine states in effect:
There is one God-head. This God-head is one being shared by three co-eternal, co-equal persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They are all God, but each plays different roles. In fact, St. Augustine wrote, “There is so great an equality in that Trinity, that not only the Father is not greater than the Son, as regards divinity, but neither are the Father and Son together greater than the Holy Spirit.”So, in terms any 5th grader can understand, I'll try to explain to you how, if you believe the Word of God, this cannot be.
Right away, the Trinity Doctrine poses a problem because God is, “…from everlasting to everlasting…” according to Moses in Psalm 90:2. And Jesus is, “…the firstborn of all creation.” (Colossians 1:15) So just from two Scriptures, we learn that God has no beginning and no end, while Jesus was born or created.
But, just to make sure they're not co-equal, let's look at another Scripture. In John 14:28, Jesus says, “…the Father is greater than I.” Now, the Trinitarians like to say that this one doesn't count, because when Jesus said that, he was a man.
Okay, are there similar Scriptures that echo the same sentiment? How about Phillipians 2:6? After Jesus had ascended and Paul was speaking through the Holy Spirit (because we know all Scripture is inspired of God), he said that Jesus, “…did not consider equality with God something to be grasped…” But maybe Jesus hadn't “become God” yet.
How about in Revelation, a prophecy of what will take place in the future. Is Jesus God then? In Revelation 19:10, John tries to worship an angel, but is told, “Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God!” Notice the angel didn't say, “…testimony of Jesus, worship him!” Also note that at the time Jesus showed John the revelation, he was already in heaven and sitting at the right hand of God, but still not God.So, co-equal is shot down by Scripture, how about co-eternal? Well, eternal means without beginning or end. I already showed you in Scripture that Jesus, unlike God, had a beginning.
And Romans 6:9 says, “For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again…” So now we learn that Jesus was not originally created immortal. He could, and did die.
The Trinity Doctrine is flawed by its very definition.
Nevertheless, there are 10 Scriptures out of thousands that Trinitarians use the most to try and prove Jesus is God.
They are:1. John 1:1, “the Word was God”
2. John 1:18, “the Only Begotten God”
3. John 20:28, “My Lord and my God”
4. Titus 2:13, “our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ”
5. Hebrews 1:6, “Your throne, O God, will last forever”
6. John 17:5, “Father, glorify me”
7. John 8:58, “before Abraham was born, I am”
8. John 14:9, “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father”
9. Hebrews 1:3, “The Son is the radiance of God's glory”
10. John 2:19, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it”
Trinitarians, ask yourselves, based on information found in the other Scriptures, “Does the person talking in any of these Scriptures think Jesus is God?”
I'd like to discuss any of your thoughts.
Peace on earth to men of good will,
Mike
Mike,Try this on for size: God is the Testator. Christ is the Testator. Ergo….
THE TESTATOR DEFINED: The Testator is the person who makes the covenant.
God is the Testator: 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. 8 Because finding fault with them, He says: “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— 9 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the LORD. 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Hebrews 8:7-10
Jesus is the Testator: For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator (Jesus) Hebrews 9:16
Note that Hebrews 8 says that it is God who made the covenant. Therefore, God is the Testator.
Note that the Testator must die. So Jesus is the Testator.
Major premise: God alone is the Testator
Minor premise: Jesus is the Testator
Conclusion: Therefore, Jesus is GodThus anti-trinitariansism is put to death!

ParticipantQuote (katjo @ Feb. 18 2010,00:56) B.D. better read the new testament and find out what Jesus is truly saying to you!!! You better think about the Holy spirit again because if your faith is not in Christ, than you dont have it!!! HE IS YOUR SAVIOR!! JOHN 10;27 MY SHEEP LISTEN TO MY VOICE; I KNOW THEM AND THEY FOLLOW ME! THERE IS NO OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN BY WHICH YOU MUST BE SAVED(jESUS) dO YOU NOT KNOW THAT CHRIST IS IN YOU.. UNLESS YOU FAIL THE TEST(SCRIPTUAL).. IS HE YOUR LORD? katjo
Hi KatjoI cant believe someone called you a He on another thread- lol. I can usually tell a female from a male!
I believe Bod does have the Holy Spirit. What drives him to keep on defending his beliefs in God and to put up with so much negativness is something I think should be admired.
Just think what he could achieve with that, when he decides to let go of some misunderstanding!
He is blessed. - AuthorPosts
