February 13, 2013 at 4:21 pm#335502journey42ParticipantHi 2Besse,
I know that you and Devo are debating Zechariah in the hot seat, so I can't go there. I have a few questions myself, and I hope they are not the same questions Devo is asking you.
Quote Zechariah 13:9
In the whole land[/b], says the LORD, two thirds shall be cut off and perish, and one third shall be left alive. And I will put this third into the fire, and refine them as one refines silver, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, `They are my people'; and they will say, `The LORD is my God.'”
What is this whole land?Two thirds will be cut off and perish, and one third left alive.
Who are these two thirds who be will cut off?
and who is this one third that will be put through the fire and kept alive?I think this was your explanation to Zechariah 13:9? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Quote Jesus' first coming.
Next Chapter follows on..Zech.14:1-3.
Behold, a day of the LORD is coming, when the spoil taken from you will be divided in the midst of you. For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women ravished; half of the city shall go into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle.
My question is;
Are you saying that this happened in 70AD when Rome attacked Jerusalem?,
then why does the Lord say that he will gather all the nations?and if so, when did the Lord fight against all those nations?
Quote Matt 24 “You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another, that will not be thrown down………
I agree that this happened in 70Ad. Jerusalem was flattened by the Romans.but we go down further and you quote this;
Quote Mat 24
[15]So when you see the desolating sacrilege spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),
[16]then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains;
[17]let him who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house;
[18]and let him who is in the field not turn back to take his mantle.
[19]And alas for those who are with child and for those who give suck in those days!
[20]Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a sabbath.[/b] “
but you failed to quote the next verses;
[21] For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
[22] And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved, but for the elects sake those days will be shortened.Also at the beginning of this chapter in Matthew, before Christ answered, you did not quote this question asked by his disciples.
[3] And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, …..Tell us, when shall these things be? and ….what shall be the sign of thy coming?….. and of the end of the world.
This is a pretty important clue.

Chistians have been duped by their shepherds,for personal gain. They have turned the word of God into merchandise. Just as the jews did in the temple court,and Jesus was very angry,and turn over the tables.

We know it's speaking of Christ, but my translation reads like this;
Zechariah 13:6 And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
Why would they change the words from hands to back? Did the original translators make a mistake? We know Christ was whipped. He was even spat on and made to drink vinegar, but was hung on the cross, died and resurrected. He showed his hands to his apostles as proof, he was back from the dead. Not his back.

Journey,
What are these distractions?I was merely showing Devolution how chapter 13 shows us the first coming of Jesus, and how it then continues on into the next chapter – chapter 14.
The translation differences, is due to the Hebrew, because the Hebrew does not mention where the wounds are. So the translators translated it as either “Hands”, “Arms”, “Chest” or “Body”

Quote Journey,
I have gone over your questions in Ed's thread, I think it was.
Matthew 24 is a dual prophecy.Hi 2Besse
I don't know which thread you are speaking about. (takes so long to find)
Can we look at Matthew 24 honestly 2Besse
Mat 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying Tell us, WHEN shall these things be? ..and WHAT shall be the SIGN of THY COMING, and OF THE END OF THE WORLD?
I can't see how this can be dual, considering Christ was there already, and Christ had obviously told them he was coming back, and they knew it would be at the end of the world (as we know it) and wanted the signs.
Mat 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then the end shall come
Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whosoever READETH, let him understand)Daniel 11:31 And arms (ARMIES, POWER, 10 KINGS) shall stand on his (THE FALSE PROPHET) part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength (CHRIST, SPRITIUAL HOLY TEMPLE), and shall take away the daily sacrifice, (KNOWLEDGE TO REFUSE EVIL…CHRIST WAS SACRIFICED ONCE, BUT WE HAVE BEEN SACRIFICING HIM OVER AND OVER AND OVER DAILY) and they shall.. place the..abomination that maketh desolate.(PUT SOMETHING IN CHRIST'S PLACE, RIGHT THERE IN JERUSALEM,…A PHYSICAL TEMPLE WHERE THE FALSE PROPHET WILL SIT. WE KNOW THE FALSE PROPHET WILL SET UP IN JERUSALEM, AND THIS IS THE ABOMINATION THAT MAKES DESOLATE, THAT HE HAS DECIEVED ALL THE WORLD INTO THINKING THAT HE IS GOD AND DONE IT IN HOLY JERUSALEM TO COME.)
Daniel 11:32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant(THOSE THAT IGNORE THE NEW COVENANT, FORGIVENESS OF SINS, CHRIST) shall he corrupt by flatteries:(SWEET TALK THEM) but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits WARN OTHERS. THE 144,000, THE ONES THAT FOLLOW THE LAMB WHERESOEVER HE GOES, AND FEED ON HIS FLESH. THESE ARE SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THE EARTH.
Daniel 11:33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, and by captivity, (PERSECUTED) and by spoil many days.
Daniel 11:34 Now when they shall fall (persecuted), they shall be helped with a little help: …
Matthew 10:19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.Matthew 10:20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
..but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.(THE ONES WITH NO KNOWLEDGE REALISE THAT THOSE OTHER ONES KNEW THE TRUTH THE WHOLE TIME BECAUSE IT'S PANNING OUT EXACTLY AS THEY SAID IT WOULD, AND THEREFORE THEY WILL CLING ONTO THEM WITH THEIR LIVES OUT OF FEAR…NOT PREPARED)
Daniel 11:36 And the king (THE FALSE PROPHET) shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above EVERY god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper, till the indignation be accomplished:
Daniel 11:41 He shall enter also into the glorious land (JERUSALEM) , and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon (JORDAN)
So when we see the abomination that makes desolate set up (the false prophets own temple) standing where it ought not to (in Jerusalem) know that the end is very very near. And when that temple is declared finished (fully built) and he sits in there, we know we have 45 days till the Lord comes. (Daniel 12:12)
Matthew 24 is speaking of the END. Just like Daniel did.

Zechariah 13 & 14 is all speaking of the end. It also reflects back to when Christ was crucified, that I agree. But it goes beyond that, like when a third will pass through the fire and be refined. This is unfulfilled prophesy, yet to come. Do you know what it is?
